The burgers are better, (not much though) though much smaller, and they do put a hell of a lot more onions on the regular handburgers and cheeseburgers. The fries aren't as good and an American kid's drink is about a Japanese medium or large. You can get some cool "sets" that not only have fries but Chicken McNuggets as well.
Naturally the presentation is much better. In most of the "sit down" McDonald's' your tray will actually be brought to you. Your Big Mac comes with a rolled piece of cardboard around it to retain the burger shape and is wrapped in the normal paper stuff. Your sandwich is also never smashed or malformed in any way.

Most of the people working the counters and in the kitchen are your standard anorex- err skinny Japanese females dressed in their McDonald's unifroms. They all wear skirts, the same shirt, a hat or sunvisor with the mickey-D logo and they all have long black hair. Generally at least one of them speaks English, and even if they don't since all the food is named the same as it is in the States anyway, they can generally understand what you want.
"biggu*makku seto B. And I want a coke with that."

Despite the language barrier, I have never had a fucked up order at even the Japanese Subways, let alone McDonalds.
And no, they don't try to sell you extra food either if you indicate that you just want the sandwich.
As you guys probably know the Japanese are hella professional even when it comes to the most mundane and every day jobs. There are some fucked up things with Japan, but their worth ethic is damn enviable if you ask me, as is the loyalty between the company and the employee. I'm not saying I would like to adopt their culture instead of ours, but it certainly is interesting and does have it's strong points.
And it's good to know I found my niche here: international fastfood consultant.

Yeah. I also agree with the statements that the designs and packages are far superior to what we got in the U.S., though I do have to quibble over the games.Neo Yi wrote:I am officially envying you, Spazz. Where did you win these anyways?
The lack of Big makes me upset. The showing of Shadow makes me disappointed.

After all, "Amy vs. Rouge" sounds like a highly disturbing h-doujinshi, and I'm still irritated by what Knuckles gets. While I know they could never do a "Knuckles -- Beats the Crap out of Things" game, what about a "Knuckles -- Hunt for the Master Emerald Shards," or something? I'd get that.
Well, okay, I'd get it even if it weren't that logical, like it is here (and with the previous McDonald's premiums), so I guess that's a moot point...

1) The whole "flesh eating bacteria" thing makes me avoid Jack in the Box. Not that there are many in this section of America.Sonic > Wendy's > Jack in the Box > Burger King > Neighbor's trash > McDonald's
2) Sonic's is good, but I've looked at their calories. They're more fatting then everything else you listed combined. Scientifically speakin' - just LOOKING at a Sonic meal should make your heart explode with the force of a nuclear blast.
Not that you have to worry about getting fat, Nate. If the wind blew too hard, you'd fly off. :p
That being said, is anyone else suprised that there was never a Sonic/Sonic promotion?
Seems bloody obvious if you ask me.

Hrm. Then maybe it's true that the more fat the better it tastes. :p
I like Jack in the Box a lot, but that's one of the few places where I actually feel the fat after I'm done eating. I get that gross bloated slightly-dizzy feeling after I eat two of those ultimate cheeseburgers, and it ain't nice.

My experience entirely too often has been that people who say "I want that burger there" mean "I want it with a fry and drink." At first I was put off by the idea of having to suggest to people that they buy more of our crap, but as I was continually punished for NOT doing it by idiots who can't order correctly I ended up having to give in. Sometimes I felt like I was interrogating customers, like they were hiding what they really wanted until I asked them about it.And no, they don't try to sell you extra food either if you indicate that you just want the sandwich.
