Happy 50th birthday, Godzilla!

Post by John Pannozzi »

Hey, 50 years ago on this day, the first Godzilla movie was released in Japan.

Should we put Whorezilla's pic here? That would be a present.

Didn't Godzilla recently get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame?

Hey, Mr. John, where exactly do you go? What do you get from posting random topics? Can I have some of it?

Is that rumor about a movie with the original Godzilla duking it out with the remake Godzilla true?

My wang is named Godzilla. Some people suggested I name it that after the third time it tore Tokyo apart.

I always liked how in some of the movies a random monster would be fucking up Tokyo, then Godzilla would come out from the sea, kill the monster, then proceed to fuck up Tokyo some more for no apparent reason.

If only we could get Godzilla to come to America.

Oh, we're destroying ourselves pretty well on our own, we don't need a giant lizard to help us.

Yeah, but Godzilla's destruction wouldn't be influenced by creed, religion, preference, or class. Everyone would get a fair share. Plus, Bush would finally get to use all those weapons he's been stocking up on.

Better yet - Godzilla AND King Ghidora. Maybe with a cameo from Mothra and Rodan for the sole reason of giving our air-force a run for it's money.

I figure they should all start fighting in Florida. I can't think of a more deserving state. Move their way up to the gulf of Mexico - then it's a big Kaiju showdown in Texas. Ride that radioactive dinosaur, cowboy.

Ride.

Looks like Godzilla's going to be killed off for a while.

I hate it when they do that.

The idea of a monster that takes the form of all of Godzilla's old opponents is pretty cool though.

It was always my dream as a child to see a Godzilla movie with no plot and just monster battles. I don't know if I would appreciate it in the same way now, but the idea makes me happy.

They should make a sequel to (the) Godzilla (remake that came out in) 2000, but with a shit-ton more Godzilla and less people talking. Just "BLARG!! FUCK YOU NEW YORK!!"

Then it takes a massive dump on someone's house and eats their cats.

Then Spider-Man comes and he's all "I HAVE TO SAVE MANHATTAN" but then he gets eaten, too. Then Super-Man comes and Godzilla gets all sweet and they end up going out together for a while but then Godzilla breaks up with him and takes all his CD's and he's really pissed because she has his only copy of Madman Across the Water and this is just getting dumber as I go on.

Give them time. In just a year or so, it'll be a reality show on Fox.

Are you sure you're not confusing "Godzilla 2000"/"Gojira x Ogra" with the American film with Mathew Broderick? In the Japanese films, Godzilla was a guy; only in the U.S. film was "Big G" a she.

And anyone else remember one of the more recent "Godzilla" flicks to come out of Japan having a snide comment about the American film? I do, I just can't remember which movie it was in...

Yeah, that's what I meant, the one with Broderick. I fixed it :P.
