Except for the fact that Wily is insistent, and that Sigma became a virus.

I think it's pretty obvious who the Ultimate Villian is...

Those ghosts from "Pac-Man".

The spectral bastards.

I'm going to be different and say...either Grahf and/or Miang from Xenogears. Grahf, because he had cool theme music, manipulated people who desired power, and he manages to be both a previous incarnation of Fei and his father. As for Miang, I give props to her being the true head of Deus and a manipulative little bitch that lies dormant in all of the females in the world of Xenogears.

I'm gonna have to say Trogdor. He's definitely bad and awesome.

The Doc, I'd say, is the ultimate "stereotypical villain" in that, when it comes to all the traditional cliches (like having a "hideout" that stands out a mile, or leaving out little details, or just generally screwing up), but I wouldn't say he's the baddest of the bad.

It's a little weird but my vote goes for Supreme Executive Chairman Drek, of Ratchett and Clank 1 (No idea if he's in the others, I'm afraid I haven't played 'em). As we all know, corporate bosses make the most despicable villains of all. And he planned to destroy several worlds, and create his own one that he'd rule over, thus scoring on both destroy AND rule counts. Presumably he ultimately fails, because I didn't finish the game. Anyone prepared to give a plot spoiler of, say, the second half?

EDIT: Ooh, hang on. How about Sturm from Advance Wars? *ducks assorted thrown implements*

Drek is good. But he just doesn't have enough personality to make it work. He's kind of a generic villain. Insomiac's never really been good at giving their characters interesting motivations and backstories, though.

R&C blast his ass offa Ratchet's planet and send him to the patchwork world. Then they use the planet destroyer on the patchwork planet and explode it to bits - along with Drek.

Of course, this isn't the brightest idea, as the resulting space debris from Drek's planet exploding nearly destroy's Ratchet's planet. But everyone manages to pull through in the end - despite the stupid decision on how to handle the denoumont.

The one thing Insomanic always irked me was their style of art. I mean, those BIG round eyes and that massive ass mouth on characters not only made me cringe in disgust (I never liked the style), but it scared the crap outta me. I can't go on playing Spyro or Ratchet in comfort anymore.
