I love Jon Stewart.

What else can I say? That was great.

Talk about a verbal bitch-slapping.

It was amusing, but Stewart really didn't have a point. All he really did was bait the hosts and make baseless assertions mixed with some witicisms. That Republican guy did come off as a total dumb ass though.

Well, he came on there with the idea of confronting them about not quesitoning politicians enough and basically failing to be a good debate show, and they tried to turn it around and critisize him as a news journalist but it doesn't really work. He doesn't see it as his responsiblity to ask politicians the "hard-hitting" questions but they didn't really want to talk about it too much. Then they kept trying to make him be funny instead of actually talking to him about what was on his mind. "What do you think of the Bill O'Reilly vibrator story?" I would have called him a dick, too.

I thought it was more along the lines of them trying to keep Stewart from making his points. You'll notice after the first commercial break that they try to rush a few questions at him before he can say much, but then he breaks out again.

Lamers.

Oh I agree he was being stifled 100% and that could be the reason his case wasn't strong enough. I don't watch Crossfire, so that might have something to do with it. If I was more familiar with the show then maybe his comments woulnd't need any explanation.

I don't know all that much about American politics, I've never heard of Jon Stewart and I've never seen Crossfire, but that was faintly amusing.

Was he really? I would have liked to have seen that.

We don't get Fox News or Comedy Central in Canada, so I'm a bit out of the loop. We do get CNN though.

They didn't really butt-heads, O'Reilly and Stewart. I was kind of disappointed, heh.

You can see the clip at http://www.comedycentral.com.

They actually joke around, and seem to get along quite well.

"You know I was stoned when I said that," is O'Reilly's response when Jon asks him to apologize to the home audience for calling them the "stoned slackers."

Pretty funny stuff.
