America FUCK YEAH!

Post by plasticwingsband »

Jesus titty-fucking Christ. I got back from Team America: World Police aboot half an hour ago and all I can say is it's probably the funniest fucking thing I've seen all year. I don't want to go into too much detail for fear of spoiling it for anyone, but in typical "Matt & Trey" fashion, this movie rips on everyone. The idiotic Americans, the political-activist actors who think they know more than the common man, Michael Moore, Kim Jong-Il, Country Songs, and, last but definitely not least, Jerry Bruckheimer "movies."

The sets are incredible, and it's really amazing what the puppeteers were able to do with the marionettes. The dialogue is horrible, but funny, as it's a parody of the summer blockbusters that Bruckheimer regularly produces. The soundtrack is fucking great, featuring a bunch of original songs (one of which I got the thread title from).

It also features the voice talent of the incredibly awesome Phil Hendrie, who is the best thing to happen to radio since God knows how long.

In conclusion, I urge you all to go out and see it. You really haven't lived until you've seen two anatomically-incorrect puppets doin' the nasty.

I'm taking my boy next weekend.

Or he's taking me. We've never quite figured that out . . .

I hear Moore blows himself up. We determined that's insane. His fat would absorb the explosion.

My girlfriend and I just got back from seeing it about an hour or so ago. I was planning on making a thread about it, too, but you beat me to it, PWB.

I absolutely concur. It was hilarious; the songs, especially, were great. Most notably being the one that shares it's name with the thread title. Although the Pearl Harbor song was awesome, too.

My girlfriend was a bit concerned, though, that during the somewhat controversial and much hyped puppet sex scene that the male puppet never went down on the female puppet.

"She went down on HIM three times," she never failed to point out. "How fair is that?"

It's actually good, huh? I'll have to see it, then. Of course, I'll probably have to see it alone, because the only person I know who hasn't seen it yet and wants to is the most annoying fuckwad I've ever met.

Yeah, I was a bit concerned when Ebert gave it a bad review, but then again, Ebert liked Garfield.

Ebert gives everything a bad review, unless of course it sucks horribly. Plus, he already doesn't like Matt & Trey, probably because of the episode of South Park entitled, "Roger Ebert Should Lay Off The Fatty Foods."

I just gotta say (another thing) that I loved about Team America: the "Dick, Pussy, & Asshole" analogy speech. One of the funniest things I've ever heard, and it rang pretty true, as well.

And if anyone's interested, here's a interview of Matt Stone conducted by NPR. It's pretty interesting if you're a fan of their stuff: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/stor ... Id=4109371

Yeah, I liked it too. Very clever, and as you said, pretty true, too.

Just very good all around.

Apparently, one of the last things that Matt & Trey were made to take out was the male-on-female oral. I don't know what the MPAA's logic for this is, though.

That's why we have special director's cut on DVDs.

Well silly, women don't really have orgasms. Only men know how to do it right!

Seriously? Wow.

That...is...retarded.

"Blow jobs? Sure, that's okay. Cunnilingus? Whoa, whoa, whoa.. back that shit up. Heaven forbid we give these guys any pointers from puppets!"

Maybe they were just worried that the male puppet wouldn't be able to satisfy the female puppet. Lord know it's difficult.

This movie's only flaw is the fact that it probably won't even be funny anymore in February.

But don't worry Pop... I liked it, so you'll probably despise it anyway. :D

I think Pop's high standards are a superpower - like super-vision or super hearing. What sucks for normal people like us sucks 100 times worse for Popcorn.

This means he can detect lameness and suckyness with uncanny accuracy. But it also means that he can't ever really enjoy anything without it's inherent flaws shining like a thousand burning suns poked into his eyes.

I think my 'high standards' are a myth, actually. It's just that I don't like most RPGs.

On account of them sucking.

Hey, do you guys remember how during the credits for Thunderbirds it always said that the show was filmed in "SUPERMARIONATION"? Only just recently did I realize that this referred to the marionettes rather than Super Mario.

Knowing that the show was made in the 1960's, that always confused the hell out of me as a child.
