I did the interior design for the instruction manual for Volgarr the Viking, due out this Friday on Steam. Besides the layouts I also did some cute manual art towards the back of the book to keep things from getting too serious. It shouldn't be surprising that this game is right up my alley, but I also did some beta testing on it so I already know I love it. :D
A couple of months ago I worked on the video for the Arctic Monkeys' latest single (now part of their latest album). My title on the job was "head of design" but I consider my role more akin to layout artist and lead animator, as I drew the layout frames for almost every scene in the second half of the video, but I consider the real design work to have been done by the director. I also did complete animation on the sequence with the chubby lady and the James Dean man in the car. It's probably my favourite thing I've ever worked on.

I saw your artwork on an [adult swim] bump.

These are great! Are they in order (newest to oldest) on your tumblr? Alucard in particular seems really impressive!
Are these just done with SuperSculpy? I understand there's some kind of liquid you can put on them to help the surface work into a smoother texture, and there's also some kind of SuperSculpy "Firm" that's a bit harder to track down but also a bit better for this kind of detail work, without getting into those really hard materials that most pros seem to use.
Yup, they are newest to oldest. They are made with Super Sculpey! Bought 24 lbs of the stuff! I don't think I'm going to continue sculpting with polymer clay once my 24 lbs runs out though, so I don't think I'll be getting into this "Firm" version. I need to get into 3d printing so I can make multiples of stuff!
A bitter, washed up Sonic the Hedgehog on crutches drowning his sorrows in a bar having completely ruined his knees with 26 years of high impact running. He’s crying over a tattered photo of Amy Rose and has just spent his last gold ring on whiskey.
This guy does some awesome stuff. You can see the love in the detail. Even I took a few minutes to figure out who S.A. was.
If so, that could be a nod to Super Sonic Dance Attack, a song from the album Inter Galactica Dance Club - Super Sonic Dance Attack, which features the lyrics "I killed Samus," followed by the death sound effect from Metroid, but that's WAY more obscure that I would expect. Also, I've been led to believe that Samus is literate enough to know how to spell "was here."
Thanks! Mostly I just thought it'd be fun to try it, I haven't done anything like these before. Just 2D pixel animation and other character animation for games really. Maybe a project will come along later.
