Are you implying that the archie characters had. . .depth?Malchik wrote:Even if they don't bring back the Ken Penders characters, they will have to significantly deviate from the Sega universe because, let's face it, every character from the games are boring and are as dimensional as a coaster. We'll still see an eventual new cast of furries as time moves on and the comics will again turn into a universe much different than Sega's one dimensional story lines.

Re: Archie Sonic Reboot
I thought it was confirmed right from the beginning that this reboot was just a temporary four issue thing?

I could be wrong, but I don't think they ever explicitly said that. What I've gathered from the interviews out there is that the main story will, in some capacity, resume at StH 230. However, the Genesis storyline is not completely self-contained and will have some kind of long term ramifications on the series. It's not really clear, but it looks like Ian's trying to pull something unpredictable here.Esrever wrote:I thought it was confirmed right from the beginning that this reboot was just a temporary four issue thing?

I think it's interesting that Genesis is adapting Sonic 1 and 2, so the story will essentially end right where Sonic #225 did. In #225 Sonic and Sally made it into the new Death Egg, Sonic fought "Silver Sonic" and Sally got machine gunned down - then Eggman used his new device and everything turned white. This time around it looks like Super Sonic will be involved, so maybe Sonic will save Sally and the story will carry on from there with a pick-n-mix form of continuity?

Pretty much... but hopefully Ian will avoid the mistakes of Crisis by having nobody mention the events of the reboot ever again. That certainly wasn't the case with Infinite Crisis.Senbei wrote:Crisis on Infinite Eggs?

According to people on the Internet, this issues finishes the Sonic 1 adaptation, with a visit to Scrap Brain Zone and the Final Zone boss. No Tails yet, but the next two issues will adapt Sonic 2. Oil Ocean Zone was mentioned in the solicitations, so Bunnie may turn up as well, seeing as her uncle was maintaining it the last time the zone was featured in the comic.

And the cover to #230, the first post-Genesis issue, picking up where #225 left off:

Hopefully this means Knuckles will be streamlined. In Sonic Genesis, it’s kind of a flashback to Sonic 1 and 2 as Eggman reset the world. Will the effects from the Genesis storyline affect the Prime World at all?
Paul – Yea. Definitely. With some characters you might not expect it to have an effect on. It will have an effect on the cast going forward.

She's going super form. I knew that was happening in that issue even before 225 landed.

Re: Archie Sonic Reboot
I noticed they removed the word "Mobius" from the introductory blurb on the first page. Maybe they really are going to keep the planet name ambiguous from now on?
I read the spoilers from 227. One thing I found strange was how the Chaos Emeralds haven't come up at all, despite the fact that Super Sonic is going to appear in 229. How are they going to find all seven Chaos Emeralds in less than two issues?
