The alpha test info page says it runs on 32-bit Windows XP, but it specifies that it has to be the Japanese language version. Wonder if it'll run with AppLocale?
The other system requirements are: Core 2 Duo E6300 or better, 1.5GB of RAM or more, more than 8GB of free HDD space, 1280×720 or higher screen resolution, GeForce 7800GT or better, DirectX 9 or higher, a DirectSound compatible sound card and broadband Internet access. These are valid for the alpha, they may change for the beta and release builds.

Since we were (briefly) on the subject, and since you clowns ignored my last topic, just thought I'd throw it out there that I still play PSOBB on the schthack servers. Totally free, tons of cool stuff, with the added bonus of playing with me, which is almost definitely worth the price of admission (i.e. nothing)!

oh! well, I do too! In fact I was just on for the first time in months the other day. Our monster hunter date may have not worked out J-man, but it'd be great to trash some boomas with you. Anyone else on? We should have a GHZ meet up. With lv 1 characters.

Phh, Blue Burst. Filthy, newfangled PC trash! You should be ashamed to play a console RPG on a computer!

I should still have an account, but don't count on me voicechatting. I would never hear the end of it.

Re: Phantasy Star Online 2
well okay then, that's four! now we need to set up a time. I guess it would be best to come with lv 1 characters that have the same name as your GHZ name.

We could make a chat room! Or a conference call on Skype, or something. Even if we don't use our human voices it's good to have some sort of persistent chat box, since the one in PSO sucks multiple dicks.

Where do you cool kids steal PSO from these days? Is there a particular version you have to get?

You can find the downloads here now.
I remember back in late 09 I had trouble getting it to run on Windows 7, but if I can get it up and running fine then you can count me in too.

Oh don't worry, I already heard your voice on that Visublog podcast thing you did a while back. I still sound like I'm 12.Radrappy wrote:Finally everyone can hear what a total homo I sound like.

I fully realize the odds are slim, but what are the chances of that thing working on a Mac?

BB? 100% if you're using bootcamp. That's actually how I play. I haven't owned a PC in like ten years. A virtual PC won't work though so don't bother. I tried a few times but it would crash after about 5 minutes of play without fail.Locit wrote:I fully realize the odds are slim, but what are the chances of that thing working on a Mac?

Re: Phantasy Star Online 2
I'm looking forward to this. I think I'm still addicted to PSO on a chemical level.
Since playing FF12 (and apparently being the only person to thoroughly enjoy it, but then I guess I'm not a FF fan so what do I know), I've fantasised about a PSO where you could program mags with gambits. It'd work just like FF12 - you find gambit slots and conditions as items, feed them to your mag, and then program your instructions. Mags could heal you in times of need, or cast spells on enemies, or whatever. That'd bridge the gap between the intellectual strategy of FF12's system and the real-time combat of PSO. Wow! What a notion!
PSO2 looks like a Korean MMO.

Also: PSO needs Zelda-style auto-jumping.
