VMWare Fusion runs a treat, by the way. Not if you want to play anything too graphically intensive, but that's what Boot Camp is for.

Finally got around to beating the game. The last levels were awesome, the lava levels in particular. The lava level music, the atmosphere and the platforming for level 9 was bad ass.

I've been playing a little bit today and can attest that it works completely on WINE for Ubuntu. Sound's a little hit-and-miss, though.
It's a very nice game! Enjoyable gameplay and pretty visuals all around, with a substantial atmosphere to back it up. My one wish is that the attack move was sustained as long as the action button was held down.
