Re: All-new 2D Sonic rolling out in 2010
But guys, we should really buy this game...since otherwise Sega will be convinced it bombed because they didn't include Tails anywhere.
And then the real horror will start.
Though I wasn't much surprised...the way sneak previews were translated from English across German and Austrian to my native jungle language, they made it sound as if each level had 12 acts.
And then the real horror will start.
At least two editorials over here were pissed off when they looked into level select - ultimately resulting in a lower score. Another one was jaded simply because each level only had 2 acts, while Sonic 1 ones had three.Jokes aside, I don't remember Sonic 3 ever getting a bad rep back in 94. Counting the acts... Sonic 3 has 6 x 2 = 12 acts, Sonic 4 has 4 x 3 = 12 acts. Same old, same old. The difference is that it's now we know that there will be an Episode 2.

So we are all agreed then. Do not buy this game until SEGA creates an episode to explain the origin of Tails' shoes, whilst battling all of Robotnik's past failed creations mid-air.

Even if I could buy this game, I wouldn't. I told myself that I'd only support a new Sonic game if it completely redeemed the past ten years of focused-tested rush-jobs.
I mostly frequent this board just to see how far something can coast on its ineffable qualities and nothing else. Seems Imma gonna be here a while.

This, on the other hand, is inviting yourself to die mad.Dr. BUGMAN wrote:I told myself that I'd only support a new Sonic game if it completely redeemed the past ten years of focused-tested rush-jobs.

Well hey, at least he's always gonna have something to live for. We should all have unreachable goals like that.

Except they are copying all of the Genesis games and not just Sonic 2. It also sold way more than six million.Arcade wrote:Wanna buy the game?

I remember when Popcorn had a site dedicated to why YTV (Canadian cartoon/kids channel) does not treat anime serious enough. He was apparently enraged about how they mocked Japanamation in their commercials.
What I am saying is that he likes bad things made in Japan.

I'd argue that guy'd be a better target (if not for that post), but suit yourself.

Yeah, let's keep him... actually I'm already missing Dasher. If he posted his totally random, senseless, unrelated classic Sonic wanking stuff slightly less frequently, I'd have totally voted for keeping him.
Also, while I don't presently own any system on which to play this most funny looking of trainwrecks, I'd most definitely not shell out money for it.
You can keep the surprises for yourselves all you want, but I regularly watch promotional or outright leaked stuff to see if I should look forward to a game or (as in this case) have a cheap, good laugh at both its and its defendants' expenses. For example, there's no way I'm watching 2 hours worth of, say, early Bayonetta footage, but the more I watch, the more it just makes me want to rush to the nearest store and get me an HDTV and a 360 just for that game alone. Conversely, I stumbled upon some Just Cause 2 footage while watching a Red Steel 2 video review and immediately thought that game looked insanely sweet (please do know that down here there aren't any game ads on TV save for some Wii and DS titles from time to time, not even Halo, GTA or CoD ads).

Didn't Dasher leave of his own accord? Either way, whenever he or Arcade post my eyes tend to glaze over until I get to a coherent reply. I don't find it all that entertaining.
That was a very informative trailer. Real gameplay footage.
