Why videogames go bad

Post by Brazillian Cara »

Here's an article posted by a Megaman site. Read it, and think about it in the next time you say Sonic Heroes is crap.

I just read that. And it seems to imply that no videgame can truly be crap because effort is put into everyone. Which is a stupid statement to make, even coming from someone who works on videogames for a living.

Yeah, no development team sets out to make a steaming pile of crap - but it still happens.

Sonic Heroes wasn't bad because not enough effort was put into it. It was bad just in general ideas and overall execution. You can set out to make a house, but if you try and screw things up by making it a floating house or something - it's still a bad idea, no matter how muche effort or difficulty went into making it.

Sonic Mega Collection on the other hand is bad due to lack of effort.

Exactly.

No! Don't make me read that! I wanna stay mad at Heroes, dammit!

The respective targets of "exactly" and "yep" above are correct. Sure, I know making games is no holiday, but a bad result is a bad result. Ever get a bad and-of-year school exam result? Feckin' year wasted.
