Silv's Buzz Bomber is awesome, and its basis reminds me of Emerald Weapon.

Ritz's Rexxon is also kickass, and coincidentally enough I've also started playing Soukyuugurentai (although I'm hating the DualShock 2 more and more with every minute I spend playing any STG with it), Akitaka also reminds me of Emerald Weapon.

... Looks like I should go back to my FF VII speedrun and beat Emerald Weapon. Yeah, totally.

No, they really called him that in the show's dub, always. BTW, I first learned about Sonic from that cartoon, he was called "Sonic el veloz" (Sonic the fast/speedy, maybe they didn't want kids to know just what the hell animal he was). I think they were called the same in SatAM's dub, can't remember much 'bout that one.

In Sonic X's dub he's just "Doctor Huevo" (Dr. Egg, no "-man" at the end), and Sonic's species is acknowledged.
You watched the spanish dub and survived? For some odd reason now I respect you a bit...

By the way, if this game is a Sonic 1 remake, why the zones have to get new games? Cant they just add "Remix" to the Sonic 1 names and be done with it?

So there's been two posts so far saying that they'll be posting the information soon. This is fucking killing me. It's like it's Christmas morning and your mum is still wrapping the presents, and then she makes you wait until after breakfast to open them. This is the kind of shit that turns perfectly respectable members of society into cold-blooded killers.

sonic 4 plz hurry thx

WHAT, ITS NOT A REMAKE?!

I really wanted an old game I already beat 500 times that looks slightly better. A new game is no good.

Has anyone been here yet? It appears to have the title screen music for the game or whatever.

There's also concept art of a GHZ sunflower and a palm tree, which is about as exciting as it sounds. Good luck viewing it with all the incoming traffic, though.

I really honestly don't know what The Fandom wants anymore, apart from being dragged behind the barn and shot in the head.

I am excited by the sunflower and palm tree, and when Sonic 4 comes out everyone else will be, too.

See, so am I - all I really want is something that plays and looks like the classics, it doesn't have to break new ground when all it really has to do is prove Sega can still make a good game.

Nevertheless you have nearly everyone in Sonic Retro BAWWWWWWWWWWWWing about every little detail. BAWWWWWWWw the music (which is eight seconds long btw) is unmemorable. BAWWWWWW, the palmtree is generic. BAWWWWWWWW, there's no new badniks or anything. Jesus Christ, people. I mean, I'm frustrated with the lack of anything other than concept art upon on concept art too, but shit, people have their standards too high. I just want a game that doesn't suck balls. Indications thus far haven't really confirmed or denied it, but look somewhat promising.

If there were ever a time to bring back the term "frothing demand," this must be it. They killed the Sega blog, seriously? The cynic in me and the part of me that submitted badnik designs are still at odds with each other, but damn. I guess kudos for whipping up server-crushing frenzy are in order?

Using the old classic sonic drum samples in that song is incredibly emotionally manipulative! That got a bigger reaction out of me than anything that has been said or shown so far.

What's funny is that Sonic 4 will sound like a genesis title where I expected it to sound I dunno something like this by now? I guess only Oshima liked Sonic CD.

But with the current Sonic Team lets just hope they pull this one off mainly the game play and level design, *prays for only 5% of pill falls* And lol at the prize, a Sonic 3 game signed by Iizuka.

Jumping Flash! has awesome music, yes (although I really blow at the game itself). Still, I think these two are better choices of tunage:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNfbTRcFSiU
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWImnh5kV_I
(Why yes, those ARE the two tracks Retro Sonic used in its prior demos, why do you ask?)

...but unfortunately the composer for those games is dead as a doornail.

The music tease isn't really that bad, though.

Ah I was gonna post the images here but forgot to do it thanks Alexrd.

Yea the composer for Jumping Flash was a genius, ah well I just hope music like that gets more love these days.

Yes the ones you picked are better suited, I picked boss tunes which are over the top heheh, but I love all the jumping Flash 1&2 tracks, never played the game but saw my cousin playing it back then and it looked revolutionary at the time and to this day it looks pretty unique. It is one of the first PSX games right? very cool.

As for the palm tree and flower, they're ok..everyone needs to remember they are concept art, but I just hope they don't make it too similar to Sonic 1. If you ask me whether I like a very surreal Sonic like Sonic CD & Chaotix or kinda Realistic Sonic I'd go Very Surreal, Sonic himself isn't realistic at all (that was the great fiasco of Sonic 06 besides the game play... utter disaster *vomits*) but what they did back then of keeping everything in balance, neither too realistic nor too surreal is the balance i'm looking for, for plants make them very surreal, for example floating leaves, weird vibrant colors like vibrant blue or magenta, gem like fruit, and of course make them move in odd ways, but not all of them of course. Sonic's world was a character on its own back then, just as important as Sonic and Eggman and they killed it off. Will they ressuract this vital part of what truly makes sonic games? (Music also makes a game but that's another story, balance is the key of the universe!)

I hate the majority of the Sonic Retro membership as much as anybody with a shred of common sense, but any cynicism over the drab nature of this concept art is deserved. There's a good game and then there's a mediocre one that coasts on the carcass of better games purely for the attention, which is what they're selling this as with these obnoxious teasers. (Given these sites crashing from people crowding into them, I think it more accurate to say they know they can put out dull minutiae like these plants and count on the rabid unhealthy nostalgia rush alone to sell the game for them.) It is not too much to ask to expect at least the impression of something more creative/substantial than this.

They claim they're going to stop jerking people around on Thursday. Also, what's going on with this sonicthehedgehog4.com domain? Redirects straight to Sega, which says fake to me but i'm not giving hits to TSSZ to find out. (Wouldn't put it past them to have registered it themselves to make a story.)

Well duh. I'm already sick of this fad, and I seriously doubt this game didn't get greenlit because of how much money people are making from it. See also, capitalizing on trends; see also, Sonic Shuffle.

Incidentally i've noticed that in the cases of NSMB and Mega Man, it took them two games to start making something respectable of it, or at least not creatively offensive somehow; the first game effectively served as a throwaway. I guess i'm damned if I think Sonic still ought to be held to a better standard than that.

Well no wonder you wouldn't care for it. However, as somebody who actually really enjoyed all those titles instead of being too much of a cynic to actually have fun with a video game, a classic-styled Sonic, not even one that broke many barriers, would be a very welcome thing.

I fail to see what MM10 is bringing to the table to make it a marked improvement over 9. Surely Sheepman isn't THAT brilliant.

At the very least, I can agree that New Super Mario DS is a shallow husk of prior Mario titles, and on Wii if I had not had the perfect circumstances for multiplayer I might have felt very differently about it, and MM9 fails to capture what made MM2 and 3 so wonderful (but then no other Megaman games I played afterwards did either). I can see where people are coming from. But if I had to choose between those games and any Advance or Rush Sonic title, I'd take Mario and Megaman. That's an EASY decision.

Sega better live up to all those decent hacks out there, like this one for example.

No you're right it was created in Multimedia Fusion 1.5 in the 360 v2.0 Sonic engine, I'm not a technical nerd. Anyway i found this mock up for another level they were making.

I really don't get why people ever choose to use Sonic CD's hideous jump sound-effect for fangames/hacks.
