On the number 10^100 and virtual oscillations

Post by K2J »

So I got a Google Wave invite, possibly because I wrote a Bel-Air parody in the "additional message to the Google Wave team" field when I signed up. I've got five invites waiting just for the GHZ, so post/PM those e-mail addresses if you're interested.

For those who already have it, mine is: kay2jayx@googlewave.com.

I had actually never heard of it until now and had to look up info on it. steveneatworld13@gmail.com is my email, although to be honest I'm only mildly curious about it so if anyone wants it a lot more then I do then give it to them.

It's badass that it's literally named after Firefly.

Protodude and Xyton added. I've heard it could take anywhere from a day to two weeks - they're in the system, though, so it should get to you eventually.

3 invites left.

E-mail of the future!

It's basically a centralized e-mail / wiki hybrid. Instead of individual messages that have to be sent as in e-mail, messages ("waves") in Google Wave are posted to a server somewhere and you can permit access to other people using Google Wave (these people can then add other people to the Wave, as well). It works like a message board thread, but each "post" can be edited by anyone using the Wave - though it always keeps a record of who made what edits. You can also see people editing a Wave in real-time, enabling a bit of a chatroom environment. On top of all of this, you can add applications and embed photos, YouTube videos, and the like.

(More information than you ever need to know)

So it's basically a chat room/email hybrid. Sounds a lot like a message board.

Google bringing dial-up BBS into the '00s. That's pretty cool.

But I am disappoint because I thought you were going to talk about modern VA synths. Oh well.

Not everyone can have a pony. UNLESS THEY GET THEIR IN VITRO AT A VET AMIRITE :samba:

Do you have any invites left, K2J? I know the guys at the magazine I work for have been dying to try Wave. (Since we all work remotely!)
