Yep, Metal it was...Metal got a redesign but not what I hoped he looks less sleeker now and his Spikes are still "classic looking" thus he looks cute when besides Sonic's new design. If you want to see the true Metal Sonic new design look at the Metal Sonic in the tube of Final Egg in SA1, now that's a worthy new design\, not this clunky looking one.



But I know most of the people don't notice the differences.

I was talking about his recent and SA2 redesign from his classic design, and how the Metal in the tube of SA1 Final Egg would've been a good choice for a matching Metal Sonic when compared to the new Sonic we have had since 1999.

I never really saw any difference between Metal from CD and this one we have today. And I used to draw him a lot. Care to point them?

The only thing that comes to mind is the weird sphere situated underneath his body, which seem to give him a more elongated body like the one Sonic has nowadays.

To me the only differences are they have gone over board on the details: finger joints, ball joints at the top of his arms and he has a groin now. I quite like the redesign to be honest. They haven't given him a mullet of spikes or something else.

Sure, he's been given more joints, but the fact is he's one of the LEAST-changed of all the recurring characters.

Thats the thing, He almost looks the same as the original, sure he now has more joints according to that new artwork, but the make up is the same.

But if you never have seen the encapsulated Metal Sonic in Final Egg you will never understand my frustration heheh.

I have seen it. That doesn't make your argument that much stronger. Point is, this "redesign" you're yammering on about isn't as new as you'd like to think it is, and it's not even that significant.

Look at him, he already was given an elongated body to match the new Sonic, he still had his circle red retinas as opposed to oval retinas, his eyes looked sleeker and most importantly his spikes where much longer to match Sonic's longer spikes, he looked sharper and edgier! he was perfect!

but then came SA2 and this happened.



They made him look almost like the classic Metal only not cool but stupid looking, and now we have this more jointed version, is like they forgot that awesome design he has in Final Egg, I bet Oshima or someone cool did it and they don't want anything cool.

Quite frankly I personally think the Final Egg version looks downright ugly. The redesign they eventually went with did a good job at retaining the style that defined him while still refining it and adding enough details for it to not look dated - but still true to its self and kind of nostalgic.

...so you're saying that you consider all of the SA and post-SA redesigns to be awful (where I agree actually) yet at the same time vehemently defend a new look of Metal Sonic that was made to match one of these new designs, Sonic's?

I'm Saying that after SA1 you can tell everything went down hill, SA2 was a good game but you could tell things were looking sketchy.

Why make a new design Metal Sonic in tube in SA1 (Sharper design, elongated body, longer quills) to later make him look classic-like in SA2 (Rounder non sharp Design, round body, short quills) all this time until well whenever that new multi-jointed Metal came about who still looks retarded and his quills are still not as long as the SA1 tube one.
