Potosu is a god damned Turtle?!
So I was updating VGAA, having recently scanned as much Sonic 2 art from the manuals / japanese guide as I could, when someone pointed out this critter:

And said "Is that a turtle in there?"
Holy crap. I NEVER realised that it was actually a turtle in a flying shell thing. You can see the hands and everything! I always thought it was just some ugly sonofabitch which floated around smiling, like a Grandpa with his pants pulled as high as he could.
The things you learn 13 years down the track, eh?
Speaking of VGAA, I've also uploaded all the Sonic Gameworld artwork too!

Holy shit, dude, nice work with the Gameworld art. Is that all in that little flipbook thing?
Speaking of Potosu, everytime I drop "ポトス" into the Google image search, I get a bunch of pictures from Japanese sites of pothos, which is apparently a popular houseplant. I wonder if this is perhaps what "Potosu" is supposed to mean, except that I don't think it makes much sense. What's your opinion, Stearns?

The plant is one of those dangly-vine sorts that people like to keep in pots hanging from the ceiling, but I think your "poto-poto" was closer, considering how Sonic enemies tend to be named. Japan has more homonyms than any other language coincedences are likely.Green Gibbon! wrote:Speaking of Potosu, everytime I drop "ポトス" into the Google image search, I get a bunch of pictures from Japanese sites of pothos, which is apparently a popular houseplant.
