That is the case. In fact, the dialogue that An'jou spoke in the ending sounds forced and awkward, whereas when he just spoke Japanese during the rest of the game, he sounded like your everyday, friendly person. Now that I think about it, that's somewhat the case for all the characters... the voice actor behind An'jou just really stuck out more with said awkwardness.

Edit: Also Locit, the Panzerese language is some odd derivative of Latin with a few original words thrown in for good measure. Some words were exactly the same, such as caelum which translates to "sky".

I've come across four -- two were part of the plot, two were sidequests. The second sidequest one made me want to kill myself.

HEY! LISTEN!etc.
Dammit, I was going to say that.

As I progress through Ōkami, gibberish talk becomes a mixed bag. Eventually, Issun's voice becomes almost soothing. Other, humorous characters end up sounding goofy which suits and compliments their personalities. On the other hand, serious characters (though they are few and far between) can sound completely retarded. The narration sections at the beginning and other parts of the game are ruined by the narrator. I think I'd prefer a typical RPG text sound, at least for those bits.

So is Sakuya wearing an upside-down peach on her butt, or is that her bare ass?

It's her ass. For some reason everyone thinks it's a peach, but it's definitely a hole in her kimono.

when does the game start heating up? I've been playing for about 2 hours now and I'm starting to get annoyed by the voice sound effects.

At least it's not Simlish. A couple of hours of Simlish will drive any man to homicide.

I like Simlish. I even know what some of their sounds mean!

That is the case.
What about the FMV sections throughout the main course of the game?

So the game is good. It's like a simplified Zelda meets Goemon with a Rare-ish design sense and bare goddess ass a-plenty. Issun doesn't bother me so much, even when he's explaining in repetitious detail the bloody freaking obvious, but I have alot of patience for that sort of thing. What annoys me is the jerky camera. It tends to blur while in motion, which, coupled with the sharp-edged look of everything, can be very disorientating. But even then, it's not like anyone has ever made a 3D action game with a functional camera (ever) so I guess I have to let that slide. I do find myself wishing for a widescreen mode, though.

I keep feeling like it should be a GameCube game for some reason. Even before it came out I kept wanting to think it was for the Cube even though I knew it was PS2.

Camera's working fine for me.

True. Looks like a GC game. But they've got enough Zeldas already, and this one the fishing game doesn't suck.

They're all in Japanese.

I'd like to point out this Street Fighter reference. You gotta admit, it's probably the LAST place you'd expect Akuma's signature move (which, for reference, is here).

Heheheh, yeah, I saw that! The old lady can really make cherry cakes.

Is that the kanji for cherry cakes?

I know this has been said, but Okami is an absolutely phenomenal game. A must have for PS2. Forget the skeptics, this game is awesome.

Please, don't ressurect months-old topics just to agree with what has been said. If you have something new to say, fine. If you don't, let it lie.

Let threads die? In this forum? That could take years.
What with the turnover rate of posts.
Geez, be glad someone posted at all.
