Floating Windows logos or Sonic? It's not a difficult decision, but regardless of the functionality of this piece of software, Sonic the Screen Saver is a valuable addition to any Segaphile's library as it contains a treasure trove of Sonic art and music.

The Sonic Screensaver utilizes the latest in Magitech™ technology: simply install into your computer, then don't touch the mouse or keyboard for a period of time which you set. If you perform this correctly, the Sonic Screensaver should magically appear on your screen! Cool, huh?

The screensaver functions in this pattern: Sonic image shows up on screen along with classic Sonic BGM; music stops; Sonic character begins making the rounds across the screen, slowly covering the image up with black nothingness; character leaves; another character shows up and begins clearing the black nothingness away to reveal a new piece of Sonic art underneath; repeat cycle. The art, all in BMP format, is mostly original stuff but also includes some older pieces of character art as well as some cover art. The music selection, all in WAV format, include just about every background song from Sonic 1, 2, 3, Sonic & Knuckles, and Sonic CD. There are four characters (Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Eggman), each with his own 'black-out' and 'clean-up' animations. You can customize the screensaver's pattern to your liking with any combination of backgrounds, music, and animations.
