This whole thing sounds like fun to me. I want a glow-in-the-dark goldfish.

Oh well. I don't like the idea of giving animals human brains - that's just creepy. You end up with misrable, insane animals. But breeding animals to grow human organs for transplants - that's a good idea in my opinion.
And I don't have that much of a problem with splicing the DNA of too different species together, as long as you have a good reason. While I'm not for senseless animal testing, if it's for the common good instead of just folks screwing around - what's the problem?
All we have to really worry about are man-made werewolves. Or Donn and Adam ordering a shipment of four-eared cats and selling them via pop-up ads.
Acutally, if they could find a humane way to produce them - I'd like designer pets. Like an elephant the size of a dog and stuff like that. There would be other applications, too. Manufacturing chimeras that could be raised as livestock on mars or improving the immune systems of humans.
But yeah, this could go very wrong very fast. Especially if they decide to just start turning people into canaries or something.
I'm sure a lot of people argued that walking on the moon was an afront to God, too.
Besides, we've already wiped out thousands of species by mistake. As long as they're not horribly twisted half-living abominations - I don't see why we shouldn't give making some new ones a shot.
Now for the real challenge - create a blue hedgehog that can break the sound barrier!
Actually, a two-tailed fox would problably be easier. Or a purple cat.

Does it involve paint and selotape with the addition of a jet fighter, oh and the torture of a common hedgehog?:lol:chriscaffee wrote:I could make a blue hedgehog go mach 2...
I would love to see a House Hippo like on the TV awareness ad. This 2inch hippo roaming the house like a mouse. That would be so cool... then again a glowing mouse like the pic would be cool too. Though the owls would have a easy time at dinner!

After careful deliberation, I have decided that I would probably hit that, but I would have to spend several years afterwards justifying it in my head.
