Mario's in da HOUSE!

Post by CE »

For all those people who thought the NBA Street v3 cover was just too small, EA has released an ad showing just how bad the Nintendo product placement is. If there's one place I'm sure Mario shouldn't be its in the "hip urban atmosphere" of NBA Street 3.

But wait, it get's better.

Who here has played DDR and thought, "You know, this would be a whole lot better if it had Mario." Well your dreams of DDR with Mario have been fufilled in the worst Mario placement ever, "Dance Dance Revolution, with MARIO", a game where Mario feels as tacked on as in its name.

Nintendo's becoming more and more like Disney every day, creativity shuned for character placement. How long will it be until Nintendo's creativity leaves for greener pastures?

I heard Mario was gonna be in the next DOA: Beach Volleyball. And yes, he can wear the same bikini's as the girls.

Welp, can't blame 'em, since Disney makes over an assload of money by whoring characters through cheapquels and merchandise.

I don't have a problem with this kind of thing in principle... Link in Soul Calibur 2 was cool! But methinks they need to be a bit pickier when choosing the games he is going to guest in.

They never said that "with Mario" was a final subtitle, did they? It'll probably come out something like "Dance Dance Revolution Mushroommix".

These Nintendo cameo's were cool when they... Y'know, made sense. Link fit in with Soul Calibur because it was a weapons based fighter, and he was a fighter who used weapons (duh), but seeing Mario dunk a ball over Kobe "Cernex Jr." Bryant or dance is just... disturbing.

Besides, we all know Mario can't dance... he's got the white man's rythym. Luigi, though, is a completely different story... That bitch can move.

I think Mario in DDR is actually a good idea.

But only because I liked Video Game Director's Cuts Mack Daddy Mario toon series.

Moi aussi, Zeta.

There was a point in my life (or several) where I thought these horrendous cameos were going to happen to Sonic... *looks at Sega Superstars box*... well, it seems it already has.

Sega Superstars is a collection of mini-games based on all sorts of Sega super star characters. It's the entire point of the game. It would not make sense for Sonic to not be in that game.

Just because something is intended to be shit doesn't excuse the fact that it is still shit.

I doubt it was intended. There would be enough spurned Sega fans to fill a small country, let alone merely storm their Japanese HQ and beat every team member (and coffee runner) to death. Sega are lazy, not stupid.

And I thought Sega Superstars was rollicking good fun, so fuck you.

I didn't say anything about the game quality, I merely noted a simple fact about the title/character relationship. Sheesh.

That's why they only ever had one successful console right?

The only ones that actually deserved to fail were the Sega CD and 32X. And maybe the Saturn because the hardware was a goddamn mess.

Oh, I was replying to the gun nut, not you. You posted after I started reading the thread, so I never saw it.

Which is why SEGA is stupid and not lazy. They put the work in and make a decent product, but then nobody ever buys it.

So how does that make Sega stupid?
