Yuji Naka Documentary
Here's a little contribution to the GHZ. I recorded this sometime back in December on G4 (a TV channel just for Video Games). It's an episode of Icons about Yuji Naka. I think that you'll crack up at how thay start out the episode, I'll leave that as a suprise though. I cut it up into three parts and cut out the commercials. <strike>Right now there's just part one because</strike> it takes forever to encode and edit this stuff. Premier makes huge video files that are like 4GB and I have to re-encode them and everything... I tried to make these files as small as possible without the quality being horrendous, so I'll release the other to videoes as I finish them.
Sorry if the GHZ watermark pisses anyone off...
Right Click -> Save Target As...
<strike>Part One (27MB)
Part Two (29MB)
Part Three (31MB)</strike>
And in honor of Sonic's 13th Birthday, I'll say Sonic thirteen times:
<i>Sonic, Sonic, Sonic, Sonic, Sonic, Sonic, Sonic, Sonic, Sonic, Sonic, Sonic, Sonic, Sonic.</i>

Didn't G4 merge with TechTV? I'm not sure how I feel about that... I'm generally fond of Tech TV, where as G4... G4 is good because it covers games, but sometimes the stuff on there is quite cheesy. I have seen that Icons show before though, the Final Fantasy episode. It was pretty interesting. It gives me hope for the channel. Plus, since they merged with TechTV, I guess they show X-Play on G4 now, and that show p|//|\|Z.
Does G4 still have that retarded MMORPG comedy-skit show thing? I haven't seen it in awhile... Had to lose the cable since I'm in the process of preparing to move.

Not to many people were happy when G4 and TechTV mereged, so they show <i>mostly</i> G4 shows now. And that MMORPG "machinima" show, Portal, that they had ended a few months ago and I haven't seen it on air for a long time.
I'm still waiting for them to do an episode of Icons just on Sonic, but that's probably just wishfull thinking. After all, Miyamoto and Mario each had their own episodes.

I'll try to encode them in mpeg1. But if they're too big then sorry, unless someone else can. Damn, I don't see why Adobe Premier or Windows Movie Maker can't export in mpg or AVI that doesn't take up GIGs of memory...
Btw, If anyone can mirror these for me that'd be beyond awesome.
Update: I was almost done encoding the second video then I got a memory error and I had to start over. So the 2nd one won't be up until tonight hopefully.

Use Media Player Classic. It's not from Microsoft, but it's modeled after the older versions of WMP. It plays AVI, MPEG, MOV, WMV, and just about every other format imaginable. Best player I've ever used.-wyvern wrote:Sorry, but could you encode any movies you make in the universal mpg format so I don't have to allow shitty, inefficient microsoft spyware onto my computer.
Edit: Spazz, that was really, really cool. Please, keep these coming.

Doesn't play WMV3, but hardly anything uses that, including this video.

Update: I had just finished encoding the final video of part 2, and somewhere after two mins, the video went blank. So, I went to the file I was encoding, and for some reason that file was exported with that part blank. What a waste of 4GB... Anyways, I just finished exporting it again, and everything's cool, and this time the file is only over 200MB. So, it <i>might</i> be up tonight, but it'll be tight...no promises.

Someone fill me in on the problems with the wmv format? I've never had many issues with it.
As far as the G4 + TechTV combo goes, it can only mean trouble. From what I've seen, the two channels are polar opposites in terms of the personalities behind each channel.
There's also the possible fact that many of the TechTV people will be given the boot once the combination is formed... so the resulting channel may be no better than what you already have in two distinct forms.

As for the WMV thing, there's no real problem with it, but for me, it's just a bitch if you want to convert it to another format or if you want to put it on VCD.
Except for X-play.aso wrote:As far as the G4 + TechTV combo goes, it can only mean trouble. From what I've seen, the two channels are polar opposites in terms of the personalities behind each channel.

Update: I'm still trying to find a good converting/encoding program. Until then, if anyone wants the first video in DivX format, contact me via AIM or MSN. It's about 121MB. Don't worry, You can bother me even if I'm away.
There's a buildup of limescale on my processor.

Oh wow. I thought this was lost forever. I remember a few people were gonna try to record and encode it (Kulock was the one I was hoping for) but most of them missed it, or taped over it accidentally or something.
Me personally, I don't mind WMV. Of course, I also don't mind RealMedia, either.
If you want to know good encoding tools... well, I use VirtualDub and the K-Lite Codec Pack (which comes with encode/decode versions of alot of popular video codecs like DivX and whatnot).
