Yeah, I've only played the first chapter of the offline game. And that's enough for quite a while. It's nowhere near a Phantasy Star V, and I'm glad Sonic Team stopped pushing that. Maybe they realized it wasn't so hot.

I doubt it. It's still advertised as "THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS." Bleargh.

So it's no better than playing Phantasy Star Online offline? Sigh. This is one of the few games that came out this year on PlayStation2 I actually cared about (don't own a X-BOX 360, probably never will).

And the wait for a proper Phantasy Star continues.

In the meantime, we have a kickass online action RPG. Huh.

I don't play online. I don't find online gaming worth the money.

Well then perhaps you shouldn't pin your hopes and dreams on the sequel to an almost completely online game.

But I enjoyed Phantasy Star Online offline. I really did. My only gripe was that it took an eternity to grow levels and that boss fights were generally very difficult on my own.

Well then, you can do the exact same thing in PSU once you unlock Extra Mode.

How can you say that? Right now there is the Linear Line Platform, the Dragon, Sleeping Warriors, the Gargoyle, the autistic golem thing and the Robot. That's it. Plus you can run through them all in like 15 minutes, and maybe 10 for the first part. Several of them don't even have a first part and share it with another mission. The game has virtually nothing to do right now, I've played it for a week and have done practically everything and have most of the best weapons, which are utter crap by PSO standards. 5 Star weapons that I made with my mag thing. I'm not saying the game is bad, in fact I really enjoyed it, but the amount of content is pathetic, unless they update it soon with advanced classes and raise the level cap and add some fucking rares I'm cancelling my subscription until they come out with some new stuff. Rest Assured I'll reactivate it when they do release more stuff though. Oh and level 11 Rafoie looks pretty fucking awesome.
