Um hey, I know very little about IP numbers and such, so how is it possible that someone could have the same one as me? I certainly have no other accounts on this forum(if there's a way I can verify that please let me know.).

I think people can have the same general address (the first few numbers) but then after that there is another set of numbers that makes the unique IP address. Usually the first few are the only ones tracked. Of course this post is based on fragmented memories of conversations I've only half listened too, so wait until Netaku gets on. He knows all about computer magic.

We did originally attempt to Douche the guy after we locked the first thread, but when he made this charming sequel less than 5 minutes later we decided he just wasn't that cool.

Yeah, that's about right. I don't know if PHPBB shows your entire IP address to mods/admins or just does something like 66.57.120.XXX.

It shows the whole thing. It shows all the users who have used the IP address and all the other IPs that a particular user has posted on as well.

Mutliple people can have the same IP address if it's given by a dynamic ISP.

Dynamic IP adresses are assigned as users sign online, then when one signs off - that IP address is free to the next user.

So, yes - it's perfectly possible for multiple people to have identicle IP addresses at different times.

Well beyond a possible Dynamic IP explination, there's no technical way to prove I'm not the douche. Guess I'll just have to prove it by posting well. No problem^_^

No one ever assumed you were a/the douche. It's coincidence that you all each just happen to have the same IP at one point in time.

My brother is also in the forum and you probably know him as "Cumshot".We share the same computer so when he got banned for his jackass behavior I was unable to post or view the board.I'm sorry to take time out of your busy schedule but could give my brother a second chance. I know he is an ass sometimes but he means well. If you can't allow him to post could allow him to atleast view the board. I really like this board and so does my brother we're just asking to continue taking part in it.

This has been the first instance. Normally those who've been "Douche'd" leave of their own accord. Not that they really want to, but right above their name it says "Douche Bag." The more they post obnoxious shit the more people can see that they are indeed a Douche Bag.

I'd say in this case that the ban was a little harsh, but I'm not sure if there's an alternative.

I didn't institute the ban, but I'm not going to reverse the decision. His IP address isn't banned, so Seymour should still be able to post while his brother Cumshot cannot.

I recommend no further action in either direction.

Silver and I were the guys who got rid of him. Cumshot made the first thread, I locked it; then Silv noticed he made another, and we both decided it was probably best to just shut him up entirely.
