Jumanji is one of those films that i think might be bad, but that i love way to much to be able to really tell. The book is excellent for real though.

Oh and abut the "Hideo Miyazaki" i thing; i just want you all to know that i did noticed the error, hmpf! (admittedly only after it had been pointed out, but that's completely beside the point, hmpf!) But i thought that since we are all grown up's here, people would just act adult about the mistake and let it slide, hmpf!. Oh but don't worry, that was the last time i mistook you people for a having reached the same level of maturity as myself, hmpf!

Seriously, what's with all the hmpf!'s?

I liked Jumanji, too, though I thought it was based upon a board game, not a book.

It's based on a book about a board game.
Zathura was another book by the same author.

But it was the same idea only in space, and we werent in the eighties when they premiered the movie, so I couldnt care less.

Yeah, shallow dismissals like that can blind you to some great stuff out there.

In a lot of ways it seemed to be targeted to younger children than Jumangi. Having your whole city being invaded by the jungle and a kid turning into a monkey is a lot scarier that just being stuck in space, and a lot less done in movies and Tv series too. But maybe if if they had done "Spacemunji " first, we would now have a third dangerous board game movie...

Sure, it was cool that they just did most of the stuff for real and they not overflowed the movie with CGI like spiderman 2 was. But I think that it would have been cooler if the you know who was really an older player stuck in the game, and not you know what.

Dammit, now I can't stop thinking about a giraffe wearing an oxygen helmet. IN SPACE!

EDIT - My quotes never line up on the top row... Not a big deal, but is there some way to fix that?

Try to read somebody else's quotes? You know, using the quote button? Yeah, try pressing the quote button on this post.

Just got back from seeing it. Loved it.

My thoughts can be best summed up as this, I think: This is Calvin and Hobbes the Movie, in a good way.

Go see it, especially if you're a Bill Watterson and Maurice Sendak fan.

Also, if someone could use photoshop to make Obama-style campaign posters for "Max for King '09" and lines like "Max Promises Happiness" and the like, I will love you forever.
