I hate how everyone already knows that. It's too common!

How about this one? Jim and John are born at nearly the same time in the same hospital. They will know each other for the rest of their lives. Why will they know eachother? They aren't twins.

Here's another riddle.

Once upon a time, a king was growing old, and he had to decide an heir between twin sons. Undecided, he chose to have a competition where the two sons would race and whosoever horse was last to reach the destination would be crowned the next king. The race had a time limit of 30 days, otherwise their sister would become next ruler.

The brothers then rode on their own horses as slow as they can, and when nightfall came they both entered an inn. There they talked to the innkeeper and told him of their plight.

The next morning, each rider was going as fast as they can. What did the innkeeper suggest to cause them to race fast?

(They both still want to be the next King)

With my riddle, the answer was:

John and Jim aren't twins, because they were born with Jane!

They're triplets!

EDIT: So yeah, Crazy Penguin got it right.

With Cuckoo's riddle, is it because they wanted to tire out their horses?

I knew it had something to do with that, but I was thinking along the lines of killing the horses and running the rest of the way and seeing what the king thought of that.
