I feel I have to add another comment about Rush to this topic, because it's probably a feature that'll go ignored by most in the game. The tricks sytem, which is something most people would probably think is an idiotic addition, is fantastic in my opinion. It can be incredibly satisfying flying off jumps watching Sonic somersault everywhere as you hit combinations of the B, A and R button, charging up your Rush meter again so you can fly back into full speed the second you land.
For those who've yet to play it, make no mistake this is a new style of Sonic, it's what the Advance games attempted to be but failed horribly, it's speed that's actually fun. I appreciate this new style wont appeal to everyone, but to me it's one of the best things ever.

I don't have much to say about Shadow TH. I haven't played the game yet, but I still plan to do it. Anyway, here's something that may sound obvious, but needs to be remembered:

"WTF spritecomics spawn of ebil!!!!111"
Just ignore the fact that it's a spritecomic and listen to the message.

Really, Emerald Coast was surrounded by invisible walls. There were only a handful of places where you could actually jump far into the water and die.
Same basic deal with City Escape. The level was every bit as linear and restricted as the others, but it restricted you with walls instead of pits.
I'd like to see future levels that were more open and non-linear, but even if we just got more stages like those two I'd be reasonably happy. I don't mind if the levels are "on rails" so much as long as I can't fall off the edges. :P

Sonic CD had 3 pits, and that game had 70 levels!CE wrote:I'd listen to the message, Cara, but it's all wrong. Do you know how many bottomless pits there are in Sonic 3? About FIVE. IN THE WHOLE GAME. And they don't appear until ICE CAP ZONE.
Compare that with the recent Sonics. Even Sonic Adventure 1 had bottomless pits in the first stage.
