Gawd. Blaze the Cat's design scares the living crap outta me. And her name, Blaze...lamest name I have ever heard so far. Sounds like a fancharacter name. I'm not thoroughly impressed with the screenshots so far, looks kinda...messy...for lack of better word. Hopefully it'll get better later on.

She's also the first <b>female</b> "Sonic character" (I hate to call her that) to not be fully dressed. :(<u>¯</u>)Neo Yi wrote:Gawd. Blaze the Cat's design scares the living crap outta me.

Oh, WAH. There is nothing inherently offensive about her character design. She's just another animal drawn in the same style they've used before. She doesn't look any more like a "fan character" than Cream, Rouge, Shadow, Amy, Knuckles or Tails did, nor does she look any more unoriginal or generic. Her name isn't any stupider than any of those, either.

OK, since you didn't ask, here are the things I like about her design:
1) Strong colour scheme, like some kind of winter pastel tinted Sonic.
2) Different head shape from the other franchise characters, instead of being round AGAIN.
3) I like the clothes... the coat, floofy glove ends and boots. Sort of fits with her winter colour scheme... she looks like she lives someplace cold.
4) The Bindi. (The diamond on her head.) Neat idea.
5) Looks female without being coloured pink or having frightningly giant, detached-looking tits.
6) No fucking pink hearts anywhere on her.
7) Pretty much complete absense of "extreme" or "awesome" influences in her design. I don't feel like the artist is screaming "LOOK HOW COOL THIS IS" at me.
These powers combine to form the best female character design the Sonic universe has ever harboured, as far as I'm concerned. It hardly matches the outright unique genius of a design like Sonic's or Metal's or Big's. But within the realm of the characters that are forced into variations on Sonic's design, it works for me about as well as Knuckles and Fang do. These kind of characters are always going to look like "fan characters," in that their design is primarily based on Sonic's.

Actually, I see what Eserever means now, anyone can make a fancharacter, and no matter how it looks, it'll still be a fancharacter.
Sorry Esrever, I think I was just using the wrong terminology. What I meant to say was that Blaze looks very tacky to be an official Sonic character, as many fancharacters do tend to be somewhat like that.

Edit: This was in response to before the post about the analization of Blaze's design.

I've never wasted my time playing it though.

Hey, just about the same color and everything.
As the game was described too, it sounds liek the fangame.
