I haven't listened to the new tracks yet, but man, I loves me some Wily Castle Stage 1. Once, entirely on accident, I played it in two separate media players at once, staggered so that it synced up perfectly in an amazing sort of round thing. I have never been able to duplicate it, but I'm pretty sure I heard the voice of God in there somewhere.

I just finished Mega Man ZX Advent, and after playing through it and the 8 bit mini-game you get for beating it, I'm a lot more excited for 9, as it's fro the same team.

The amount of Splash Woman fanart made in just 4 days after the first artwork of her was shown is amazing.

Those two are the only other tunes I really liked, I just didn't list them 'cause it would've oversaturated the post and drawn attention away from Galaxy Fantasy.

(Also they didn't include Wily Castle Stage 1 because "We're the Robots" is better.)

It's not, but it wouldn't be the tune I'd replace (since it is a good tune); I was thinking more "Castle of Evil" getting the boot while Wily Castle Stage 1 replaces it. It'd make for quite the emotional final stage, honestly.

God, Megaman ZX Advent is SO GREAT. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

It is. My only complaint with it is that the easy mode is too easy and the normal mode is too hard. : /

Still, you can turn into a giant ice-breathing crocodile that shoots out buzzsaws! <3 I wish someone would make a damn Ben 10 game with the same engine.

Wasn't it like, totally awesome? It pretty much restored my faith in the Mega Man series single-handedly. I just wish the voice acting didn't suck so thoroughly, because the music was really good and I hated turning it down to avoid another in a series of increasingly grating dialogues. Still, you could skip almost all of them and still make it through without any problem, so it's hard to hold much of anything against ZX Advent.

Yeah, and you don't get to play the full version of the 8 bit mini game without beating expert mode. Still, I had a great time in easy, and I'll probably play through normal after exhausting everything 9 has to offer.

ohay, confirmed North America release dates:

Wii: September 22 (this monday omfg)
Playstation 3: September 25
XBOX 360: October 5

Also, ProtoMan DLC confirmed for WiiWare, available October 6th at a cost of 200 Wii Points. ProtoMan can slide and do charged shots (neither of which MegaMan can do), and his shield can block "minor shots". Unfortunately, he also gets knocked back twice as far as MegaMan when hit.

As of right now, only Galaxy Man is beaten. This game is much harder yet feels very enjoyable when compared to the old NES MM games.

You're doing better than I am. I've tried everybody but Plug Man, and have thus far only made it to the actual boss fight for Splash Woman and Magma Man (and lost to both). I'm pretty confident I can take out Magma Man if I save an E-Tank or two when I fight him, though. Maybe it's the pussy's way out, but if it works, I don't really care - hard game is HARD.

I've tried all but Magma Man's and Splash Woman's stage and the only one I've beaten is Galaxy Man (and the only other robot master I've reached is Jewel Man). Yeah, this game is hard, it reminds me of the old school days in which if you played the levels enough you could probably dance through them easily. I'd definitely say Galaxy Man's level and his attack pattern is the easiest to beat so far.

The music is pretty ace, too.

I do really wish I could make the B button my start button instead of the + button, though I haven't attempted to change the controls yet.

Yes, I know what my avatar says, leave me alone

I got it, because the local Fred Meyer of course didn't get WarioLand Shake in today. :(

I may have been playing the game for as many as 5 hours today (I don't remember exactly when I started) so I don't know how long you guys were at it, but I felt like I was mowing bosses down left and right. Galaxy Man, Concrete Man, and Splash Woman (I conveniently had a good weapon against her) all went down without much struggle, but I did lose repeatedly to some of them. Now I'm on the boss of Wiley Stage 3, it was all a blur.

It doesn't really feel harder than any other MegaMans, and the quality DOES feel comparable to 2 and 3, although I think it suffers from the same visual blandness they've all shared from from the fourth game on (on NES anyway). So I would stick with my original thought about the game--they made an awesome game, but I wish they'd made it look all retro-modern instead of just retro.

Man I can do this for Plug Man's stage. I can't beat him, mind you, but I can get through his stage like nobody's business.

This is an awesome game, and I love it. Didn't know Shake It! was out as well, though. Will have to pick that up.

Can you use GC controllers? Because being able to use my HORI Digital Controller would be the only thing that could convince me to get the Wii version instead of the 360 one.
By the way, are there ANY decent 2D pads for the xbax, with good dpads in the right position? :(

Supposedly it was advertised and press releases said it would be able to use the GC controller, but I tried using one and it didn't work, and it seems there are other people with a similar problem. They may or may not fix it at a later date, but I've had to use the Remote, and it's a bit of a pain to get to the + button.

Also, I beat all those robot masters, but those flame pillars in Wily's Stage 1 are so unfair :(

Now I'm kind of embarrassed by how badly I'm doing. So far the only boss I've managed to beat is Splash Woman. I've only tried fighting three other chracters so far -- Hornet Man, Tornado Man, and Jewel Man -- but all violated me pretty thoroughly.

I'm looking forward to another evening of analyzing the level select menu, trying to logically infer which boss character looks like he has an elemental weakness to laser tridents.

(Please don't actually tell me which one :) )

Hornet Man is a bitch, I rapidly switched between the Mega Buster and Gravity Bomb to take him out, but even though that worked really well I have no idea what actually works on him directly. Tornado Man also is one of the hardest, I think, at least not without a better weapon. And people say Airman was hard!

What about the classic controller? I think it's really nice. Also, for dpad games on 360, what about an arcade stick?

There's also the (inexplicably) limited edition 360 controller that supposedly has a better dpad. It's (inexplicably) not coming out in the U.S., but that shouldn't affect you.

Well, I'm glad to know I apparently picked the worst possible bosses to start on. Some things never change! :)

Wily Stage 3 Boss was haaard. I eventually got the pattern down.

Anyway, I finally beat it, that's one awesome ending, I really hope none of you spoil the ending for yourself. Anyway, what happened was I got to the last stage where you have to beat all 8 bosses and then defeat Wily, but I kept losing and dying to Wily! That first form was actually really tricky to get down right! So anyway, after reluctantly going to the stage select screen to buy some E-tanks (because I knew I'd have to do all the Wily stages over again), I managed to go through the stages again rather easily, even though they were really difficult when I first did them! Even the Wily Stage 3 Boss! It was awesome, that feeling that these stages that gave me such a hard time before was cake now. And I eventually managed to defeat Wily's first form without losing health!

The level design is definitely on par with 2 or 3, maybe even better. I'd say the difficulty is... hmm, harder than 2, easier than 1. One thing I still kind of wish for is more color. I don't mind the NES resolution, but I do wish the game was more appealing and interesting to look at.

Well, Capcom surely got what they wanted with this one.

Incidentally, given the controller-related issues, the 360 version'll be the worst one to pick up, unless there is a way to get a controller with a soft rubber d-pad and a competent mechanism instead of a hard plastic one. Or the arcade stick, though in this particular case it's not as good or as cheap an option as a non-busted standard pad.

I know the game says 9, but does it take place before or after Megaman 8/Rockman&Forte?

One reason I asking this is because Roll's clothes look like her old ones.
