Sonic and the Quest for Phallic Compensation

Re: Sonic and the Quest for Phallic Compensation
I just listened to it and of course the sound the same, but it is a midi and a 'something' of the same tune... What do people expect it to sound like. Different?
Although I suppose it is possible they might have looked at what others did and just copied it. I have seen them use GameFaqs 'quotes' without mentioning where they got it.

Re: Sonic and the Quest for Phallic Compensation
With no malice intended toward Kogen, people expect videogame music to sound good. I got the chance to listen to Jacque's work on the Saturn version of Sonic 3D Blast, and his work is absolutely amazing. Both of those midis are an absolute disgrace compared to his original Puppet Panic score, and one of those two appeared in a finished Sonic game. We've had to endure the deterioration of the control, physics, graphics and overall fun of the Sonic series as of late... Now not even the music of the series, one of the very last strongholds of quality, is apparently safe from being turned into shit.Kogen wrote:What do people expect it to sound like. Different?"
Alternative take - The whole mess is an elaborate practical joke by Weird Al Yankovic.

I can't wait to see his Wonderman parody.Wombatwarlord777 wrote:Alternative take - The whole mess is an elaborate practical joke by Weird Al Yankovic.

Everytime I think I've seen all the obscure Sonic-related stuff out there - like Sonic Mars or "They Call Me Sonic" - something like this comes to my attention. I love it.K2J wrote:I can't wait to see his Wonderman parody.
I miss the pop music of the early-mid 90's. It's depressing to think that the stuff I adored as a kid is now obsolete. Oh, I feel so old!

There are much better Sonic 2 remixes out there. Here's something Dasher may have heard about...

Old as hell, I know. But still good.

Am I the only one failing to see how these posts are connected to their respective threads or the stuff Dasher blurted out beforehand?Dasher wrote:Huh? What did I say?
PS. I'm on SonicRetro looking at the hacks, man! good stuff in there!

Not anymore...
Since I've helped to derail this topic anyway, I'm surprised that nobody uses this little guy .

Dasher, you might want to look into medication for your little bipolar disorder there.

For each good track OCRemix puts out, there's another 30 which are awful and yet deemed "masterpieces".Wombatwarlord777 wrote:There are much better Sonic 2 remixes out there. Here's something Dasher may have heard about...

This is particularly true for their Sonic projects. I distinctly remember only being able to withstand a single track in both albums, though I've since forgotten which one was which.
Re: Sonic and the Quest for Phallic Compensation
Sorry for getting this nonsense back on topic but I recently popped in my copy of Black Knight and took it for a spin.
It's hard to believe that they managed to actually make this game worse than Secret Rings. It is completely without charm save for the three Fanart videos.

Good thing I stopped playing after Secret Rings.

So, are we going to vote for the best remixes or what?
