man yeah that new wii video looked terrible. The werehog sections look like a really shitty GC or ps2 game. We shouldn't have to put up with this crap in today's day and age. It's becoming clear that aside from maybe the first two levels, this game is going to be rushed out the door like no other for Christmas. Shocking, I know.

Where is everyone getting this idea? I don't know about you guys, but I'm thinking it'd be pretty goddamn tedious to have to manually add sound effects for every single action that takes place.

No, seriously, every sound effect? They could've just as easily stripped the music from the original footage and edited it back in, leaving the sound effects intact. Going back and faking them is hardly a productive way of going about things.

There have been two games that strained what the Wii can do. Mario Galaxy and the upcoming footage for Monster Hunter 3. Everyone else has basically gone "Nobody who owns this system cares about anything other than waggly controls, so I might as well pretend I'm still making PS2 games." It bugs the crap out of me.

They had a preview in the latest issue of Nintendo Power, and it inadverttently has one of the biggest "360-to-Wii" graphics comparisons I've seen so far.

Basically, early on in the mag is a two-page spread ad for Unleashed, with screens of both hedgehog and Werehog gameplay. Obviously, the screens are from the PS3/360 version, as everything looks clean and crisp, and the Werehog actually looks "hairy", as it were.

The NP preview, however, has its' own share of Werehog screens, and the model looks significantly different. All the individual hairs from the "HD" games is now a really wierd-looking flat texture--it kind of makes Were-Sonic look like he got caught in a downpour and his hair is all flat and featureless.

oh shit. how good is this song? http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=2cJHLs4cUoA

There's a bit that reminds me of Marble Zone but unortunately it doesn't continue.

The musical mindset for this appears to be the closest to SA1 so far. Kind of funny considering Ohtani's the sound director, whose biggest musical contribution was the bulk of S06's soundtrack (while good, nowhere near as Sonic-y as this), Hang Castle (yeah, dude had one song in the whole goddamn game), and the musical parts of Knuckles' SA2 stages & His World. Time will tell who's actually composing these gems, but I've gotta say if the whole soundtrack is up to snuff, it may edge out SA1 as the closest score to the classic games.

Yeah, that one's my second favorite BGM, only slightly outperformed by Chu-nan ~Night~, but it's just a matter of personal taste. The entire soundtrack sounds pretty awesome.

From the looks of that last trailer of the 360 version, the "free" controls in the normal Sonic sections appear to be a bit unwieldy, it worries me a little. I don't remember watching footage of any section like that in the Wii/ PS2 one, though.
What I can say about this other version is that the werehog sections look a whole lot like God of War in the camera placement department, unlike the 360 version which looks a tad more free, more in the style of Prince of Persia: Warrior Within.
So far I don't see anything unbearably wrong with either version, as long as I keep telling myself "this is not to be considered an actual Sonic game" they look spiffy.

As long as the PS2 ports sales amount to a good enough number, I think this'll keep happening. Not so long ago I've read in an interview with a local game studio developer that Nintendo's SDKs are somewhat barebones, they work with Metrowerks' CodeWarrior, compare that to Microsoft's Visual Studio. Or at least that's what happens with WiiWare and XBLA titles.

How, pray tell, would you be able to remove the music from an existing audio track? Rather, from existing audio tracks -- do note that there's very little continuity going on in that video, for the most part it's a bunch of tiny clips glued together. You'd have to grab a clean stream of the background music to synchronize with and subtract from each and every single little clip, just so you could mix the whole compilation with the song and have the bloody thing with a continuous audio track throughout.

Suddenly mixing random sound effects into music doesn't sound like much of a chore!

I must be the only one here who actually prefers the Werehog over most of the new characters introduced since SA2.

I thought they turned all the EB Games stores into Game Stop's by now. I guess it must have only been the ones by where I live.

Hopefully they have a better pre-order bonus at other places.

It looks like it's only available at Australian stores. It doesn't show up on the local site(s).

It's the same with where I live. Something weird they did at the mall I used to live near -- there was both a Gamestop and an EB Games, and instead of closing one, there's now a Gamestop on both floors. And they both have the same shitty service and selection!

China Wii Trailer. Despite the linearity, the daytime stage's don't look too bad, to be honest. Nothing ground-breaking (Rush's been here before), but it's nice.

The site of the Werehog is inaccessible at the time, and I agree with some here that the Werehog is a lot nicer idea than some of the crap we have seen the last few years, and besides drawing Sonic as a monster was an old idea of mine, I called him "Suck" don't ask. This game has a lot of ideas that were stuck in my mind so maybe that's why I'm liking this game so much dunno.

Nice the China level music has more to it than I thought.
