Tony Stark built this in a damn cave!
So, has anyone gone to see the new Iron Man movie? Much to my dismay, my only opportunity to see it won't se until next week--which is a damn shame, I hear it's quite sexy on the tender young nerdlingers (especially the scene after the end-credits).
Also, it's spawned the best new old meme ever.

Particularly, I'm still very fond of "Tony Stark makes you feel he's a cool exec with a heart of steel." I was very pleased to hear that song a number of times in the movie.
The film is friggin' awesome. I saw it twice already.

I think my biggest complaint was that the music wasn't very memorable at all. That's a pretty big issue though.

Are you kidding? Until this movie, "Iron Man" was just another Black Sabbath song to me. It's amazing what a visual reference can do for a music. Also to note about this movie:
-It wasn't something incredibly hard to do, but this flick more than redeems Marvel for X-3 and Spider-Man 3. And I suppose, Ghost Rider- didn't care enough to watch it.
-I think the scenes where an almost-invicible Iron Man beats/blows the crap out of terrorists in the Middle-east were pretty therapeutic to some people.

Black Sabbath doesn't count. I'm talking about the original score.

Re: Tony Stark built this in a damn cave!
You can't really blame Marvel for X3, Spidey 3, or Ghost Rider, because they didn't make any of those movies. They just licensed the characters... which means the movie studios (Fox, Sony and Columbia, respectively) had complete creative control and could do whatever they wanted.
Iron Man is the first film that Marvel has made themselves, with their own movie studio. Next is the new Hulk movie, and then Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America, and the Avengers. And because all these films are being produced by a single company -- rather than being divided up between different studios like Spider-man, the X-men, Daredevil and Ghost Rider are -- the characters from Marvel's films can live in a "shared universe" and appear in each other's films. (Hence all the SHEILD setup in Iron Man, and Tony Stark's upcoming cameo in the Incredible Hulk.)
I know there's no hope that every single one of those films will be good, but Iron Man has left me feeling really, really optimistic. Man, that was a good flick.

I can't imagine how a Thor or Ant-man stand alone movie could possibly work. Thor is too damn weird and Ant-man is just pathetic.

I've heard that the pair behind Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead will be heading up Ant-man. If anyone can make a good movie based around Ant-man, it's probably those guys.

I've heard it's just Edgar Wright and Simon's not involved. Could be wrong, though.

I don't know why but I liked emo Peter Parker. He has always been kind of mopey and depressed all the time but emo parker was just so fucking stupid it was cool.
Oh and I thought the Iron man was pretty good I loved the Stan Lee cameo and the SHIELD reference.

Damn straight it was. It felt like it was trying to be 4 movies at once, and it failed horribly at all of them.Segaholic2 wrote:Spider-Man 3 was terrible.

Spiderman 3 was, without a doubt, the least coherant and most stupid of the three movies (though they all have their I-can't-believe-how-stupid-this-is moments), but even taking that into account I still liked it best.

I always hated how Spiderman's mask kept tearing in all the movies.
Funny thing is I waited till the fancy credits turned in the plain scroll like black credits and left. I just knew I should have stayed.

Spiderman 3 sucked so bad that it almost makes me not like Spiderman 1 and 2 anymore. I hate it when sequels do that. Same thing happened to Matrix Revolution.

I sincerely don't know what's there to hate about Revolutions that isn't already in Reloaded.
And I can give that Spider-Man 3 is inferior to the first two movies, but by no accounts it's bad. It tries too much and probably lacks actual action and stuff, yeah, but it sure as hell doesn't fail (at least not completely) at being an overall good movie.

I was actually far more bored with Spider-Man 2 than 3. Spider-Man 2 didn't have enough Spider-Man in it. And I thought the version of Dr. Octopus they used was really lame and boring and not at all threatening.

As has been said a million times here before I think, Spiderman 3 wouldn't have been so bad if it hadn't completely fell apart in the final third of the movie. In the early portions it's not really mindblowing but it's fairly solid entertainment, then as soon as the Venom stuff starts to go down it somehow manages to collapse into the worst pile of shit ever.

I watched Spider-Man 3, wondering why I ever thought the first movie was so great. I didn't really like the second one and had hoped that the third movie would redeem the series... All of my friends that I saw the movie with thought it was great too and I thought I was just being negative or something, until many other people started agreeing with me.
Iron Man was the best super hero movie I'd seen since Batman Begins. But everyone should go see Speed Racer too.

Oh, you did not just imply you saw an advanced screening.
