I think his new look makes him look considerably more threatening than before, so I'd guess he's actually going to be so.

It would be nice if the spinning Eggman/Sonic signs at the end of the levels would return.
It would be nice if they do the special stages like in Sonic 1, but in 3D!.

Looking threatening and being threatening are two different things though. OCB has said he's a badass though, so we shall see.

So, which console would have the prettier version of this game?
Ps3 or 360?

Well a while ago they did a comparision of Sonic the Hedgehog on both consoles on Gamer TV (UK Gaming Show). They claimed that they switched to the PS3 version halfway through the trailer and then they stopped at a bit and did the switch from 360 to PS3 again.

Blues were sligthly bluer, Reds were were slightly redder. You wouldn't have noticed the diifference when moving. So for optimum blueness: PS3 but other than that exaclty the same.

It would be nice if they made a good Sonic game. One without the bottomless pits.

OCB, does the storyline have a focus on Sonic and his character, or is it like prior games, with a focus on the million sidecharacters, and Sonic just showing up to 'save the day'

I believe he already said it primarily focuses on Silver earlier.

Extreme Disappointment.

From the trailers, and people talking about time travel being a focus, and the title 'SONIC the Hedgehog' I assumed this was going to be heavy on Sonic in the storyline, and he'd be going back into his past while battling Silver.

I was even slightly curious about the Sonic/Elise stuff. But Silver being a focus just makes me look at the whole game negatively now.

Sigh.

Albino the Angsthog is just a stupid marketing gimmick, trying to cash in on Shadow's success with the 5-year old demographic.

Oh well..

Seems to me like the game is going to be:

Silver: "Plot plot plot. Vauge mysterious hints, exposition, backstory, regret. Repeat ad infinitum."

Shadow: "I'm only here because morons like me! And because we need a Vegeta character. Now face me, Kakkarot the Hedgehog!!!"

Sonic: "Whee. I don't know or care what's going on. None of this stuff affects me, but I like running around beating up Eggman robots. WHEEEE!"

I could live with just this.

I am somewhat curious how a Silver heavy story will translate into a Sonic-centric game. Has there been any mention of the Sonic-to-everyone else level ratio?

That's something i've been meaning to address.

Yeah, it is SA3. And by all accounts, that's a damn good thing. The adventures were so much more solid games than Heroes and Shadow. I don't see a problem calling it that, except that, if you insist on going with a nerd's-eye view of everything, "3" is not really the correct number.

2 is.

It's news to me if anybody here's bothered to observe this before, but SA1 and 2 aren't very alike. The original implemented a good "adventure" angle that told a nice story and kept the gameplay running smoothly, even if there was little to do in the adventure fields than run around aimlessly and enter action stages. In 2, all you have is the action stages, so the adventure part of that is limited to the story. 1 has equal parts action and adventure, 2 is a straight-up action game. I'm not saying SA2 was bad for this - that's an argument I hope you all have the sense not to start - my point is that SA2 was not a sequel as much as it was a thing all its' own.

Therefore, on a technical level, Sonic Next is the true Sonic Adventure 2. It's taking the same adventure mold of the first one and running with it further. I pray I don't set about more annoying irate fanboy speeches by noticing this and sharing it, but better to do it here than Sonic CulT.

And will you guys stop feeding cj shit he doesn't like already? He gets more and more depressing to deal with when you do.

Sorry, i've been a cranky bastard. It wasn't my intention to annoy/piss people off. To make up for my bitching, i'll point out aspects of the game that I like.

-CG cutscenes look theaterical quality.

-The Sonic/Elise thing made me cringe at first, but if it is done right,
it could be cute. Sonic's never had feelings for another character
in any game before, so it should be interesting to see how he acts towards Elise. It may even be a little touching when he has to leave her at the end of the game to 'go off on another adventure'

-OCB's comments saying that the game is dark and 'some pretty vicious shit happens' Intrigues me. I'd like to know what he means by 'vicious shit' I'd like to see a more mature Sonic, but i don't want him wielding a gun, and saying 'damn' and 'go to hell' every two seconds. I just want a smart storyline with some intense moments/action, (and maybe a battle-ravaged Sonic at the end) but still the same Sonic we know and love.

If the game still has the Daytime/Nighttime feature I'll be a happy camper.

Night Emerald coast, think about it.

Dude. That was the plan. Maybe he'd go commit suicide.

Oh never mind then :)

Nah, Sonic's character doesn't lend well to moments like that. I predict he'll take off without wasting much time on farewells.

Then again, there's Rush's ending...

It'll probably be like that episode of Sonic X where he plays with the wheelchair girl.

Yeah, but everyone else says that...is that hard to have a pit with spikes?
