Back in the second Shadow topic, I wrote:I get it now. Iizuka's plan is to send Shadow back to erase all the classic Sonic games and rewrite the story in his own image.
It was supposed to be a joke.

Roseanne: Oh, come on. The news can't be that bad. At least she's not pregnant.

*long pause*

Roseanne: ...............THAT WAS MY JOKE GUESS!

I thought it was funny at the time.

Anyway, time-travel is almost always cool, but the idea of Sonic wielding a gun is just...well...it's Unamerican, is what it is.

A new Sonic World equivalent would be awesome. Not that it would be as big a deal now that there have been multiple 3D Sonic games, but still... Sonic World.

It seems that for every male character in the Sonic series, they have to give them a female counterpart. And judging by this, it looks like Shadow's next...

Sonic Gems Collection stuff.

http://www.gamespot.com/gamecube/action ... index.html

The PC version of Sonic R is confirmed.

So that means so far we have:

Sonic CD
Sonic the Fighters
Sonic R (PC)

OFFICIAL ARTWORK: http://www.gamespot.com/gamecube/action ... tml?page=1

If you don't think that's awesome then your opinion is wrong.

Seeing as there's such a big emphasis on Metal Sonic (appearing in the official artwork and on all 3 of the games confirmed thus far) I wouldn't be surprised if Chaotix is also included on the collection. SegaSonic the Hedgehog is looking less and less likely, but here's hoping it makes it through.

I hope to God that both of Sonic CD's soundtracks are included, or if not both then just the JP/EU soundtrack. If it's US soundtrack only then the whole collection is killed for me.

Sonic Rush looks ugly, bland and stupid. They should use real 2D sprites for the characters. I would say more but it would just be a repeat of my rant on that new 2D Mario game.

*sigh*

What an age we live in when upcoming 2D Mario and Sonic platformers look thoroughly bad.

Well this is disappointing
Sonic Gems Collection brings several classic games to the GameCube. The compilation includes Sonic CD, Sonic Championship, Sonic R, and six Sonic Game Gear titles. Sega also promises some extra features. No release date was given for the game.
Did they forget about SADX!?

That is a nice piece of art, though Sonic's fists look a bit weird.

Seeing Metal Sonic in official artwork again has made my day.

Looks similar to the Japanese Sonic CD cover, with the colored trail following Sonic's fist.

After seeing Super Mario Bros. DS in action, I feel alot better. Some levels in the video do have much better graphic detail in them, and the game has that old Mario charm to it.

Sonic DS looks very bleak and dull.

It appears that the excitement will never stop. From a link off that page Ancient posted, it's now been announced that Sonic 1 will be ported to mobile phones (Panasonic's VS3 to be precise), and will be given a Sonic Advance style hub, but lacking the bonus stages.

Your prize a restraining order on Popcorn's mum.

Presumably (hopefully) these are the six Game Gear games that weren't featured on Sonic Mega Collection Plus, ie these six:

Sonic the Hedgehog 2
Sonic & Tails 2
Sonic Drift 2
Sonic Spinball
Tails Adventures
Tails' Skypatrol

Sonic & Tails 2 and Sonic Drift 2 would be in keeping with the Metal Sonic theme that this collection appears to have.

...no bonus stages? What the hell's the point, then? Those stages were an awesome and NECESSARY part of the game, damn it. No reason to get 50 rings now.

I'm trying to determine if the resolution and the focus on Sonic himself in this port makes this as absolutely useless as Sonic N.

If they do only include the GG games that weren't in Mega Collection Plus... that's pretty stupid, considering Mega Collection Plus was never released for the Cube. If they're going to have redundancies between Gems collection and Sonic Adventure DX, then why not include ALL the GG games? That's just silly. :P

I think, as of late, the method they use to decide what games go into these collections is to pull titles out of a hat. I mean, they still need stuff to release in Sonic Ultra Collection next year.

I've always wanted to have all those Tiger handhelds and McDonalds games on one disc!

All of them except for the Shadow Grinding game, of course, which we'll be saving for Shadow Mega Collection in 2009.

I'm expecting Playstation 2 and Xbox versions to follow. If it means I don't have to complete Sonic Adventure DX in its entirety just to play Tails Adventures then I'm happy.

It was pretty good! It was just too damn short. This is admittedly less of a problem when it's a budget title or a part of a collection then when you just shelled out fifty bucks for it.

I'm also stoked that Sonic R is on there

But I was hoping for more than just 3 new games. As I said earlier, SADX has all the GG ports

Knuckles Chaotix and Nights would make welcome secrets, but I'm not getting my hopes up... I mean these guys must be pretty retarded to put GG games in there

Ahhh... the fact its sonic R PC version makes the compilation quite nice for me. Otherwise it was Sonic CD, which I have, Sonic R, I have, and The Fighters - which is meh!

But anyway, looks like with Revolution, we'll have a console with every Mario AND Sonic game on. As shakin' stevens would put it; "Lovely stuff".

It is?! Well then I guess I have nothing to do other than to shut my mouth (which is the hole I presumed you meant) and get Gems as soon as possible!
Thank you for your advice.
