Man after reading that dope's impressions I am going to have to side with this being BS. He can't even write coherently.
fine. Let's wait and see.

Re: All-new 2D Sonic rolling out in 2010
Oh hi, ESRB website.
Glad you're with us, sir. High five for not believing everything you read on the internet!
The publisher may either accept the rating as final or revise the game's content and resubmit it to the ESRB, at which time the process starts anew.
And so on, and so on. I mean, there's more, but I'd be here all day bolding the really good stuff. When the game is ready for release to the public, publishers send copies of the final product to the ESRB. The game packaging is reviewed to make sure the rating information is displayed accurately and in accordance with ESRB requirements. Additionally, ESRB staff, including raters (time permitting), play-test the final version of a variety of games - including, but not limited to, games which generate consumer inquiries to ESRB and those which receive broad consumer exposure - to verify that all the materials provided by the games' publishers during the rating process were accurate and complete.
Glad you're with us, sir. High five for not believing everything you read on the internet!

Nice catch.
Judging from the glacial pace they've been revealing everything i'm guessing that will be in October?

No door no. 3 allowed, huh? Love it or GTFO is basically the message. This is quite possibly the most bullshit marketing ever.and base your judgments off that. Check out the composer afterwards, and then quickly decide whether you love it even more now or are going to eternally dislike it then.

...but when 70% of your visitors are doing (MUCH) more posting than reading, you have to talk overblown and exaggerated to make your posts stand out enough. It's a modern Sonic fandom curse - them young'ns of today just want to post faster and faster.A moderator should do just that. He doesn't so much moderate as make keyboard-gangster threats to anyone that offers a differing opinion. All that "U DARE TO CONDESCEND ME" stuff is wayyyy overblown, and a little bit silly.
Besides, every forum is bound to look messy and naive when compared to GHZ.
I am almost excited once more. But then, Sonic Advance 3 had good music too, and how much did that count?Masato Nakamura
Whoever wrote that must think most of Sonic's fanbase is bipolar and will either love anything to death or burn it on stake, tertium non datur, 50% chance to like, all or nothing...the whole jazz.No door no. 3 allowed, huh? I...wonder where they could've gotten that idea from.

A screenshot of the level 1 boss was leaked today.

Sigh.

That one mountain in the background looks a hell of a lot like a Moai head.

Ok can we please stop posting any more of these "leaked" screenshots, until at least one of them happens to come from a reputable source for a change? This one allegedly came from Endri and it happens to look like a cheap 'shop job.
The game itself does, I realize, but seriously. I did not bother posting that for a reason.

I talked to the guy who released it and he said "who the hell are u". This seems like DIMPS staff to me.FlashTHD wrote:Ok can we please stop posting any more of these "leaked" screenshots, until at least one of them happens to come from a reputable source for a change? In any case, it took him like 15 seconds to reach that boss, and it appears to be a piss easy recycled one...this is looking Dimpsy enough to be real.
God I hope it isn't, though, because that art direction is absolutely fucking terrible.

What exactly is "Dimpsy" about this?(No Imagination) wrote:In any case, it took him like 15 seconds to reach that boss, and it appears to be a piss easy recycled one...this is looking Dimpsy enough to be real.
To be honest, to qualify as a "Dimpsy" boss, you'd have to wait for 30 seconds while it attacks, then bop it when it exposes its obvious but otherwise inaccessible weak point.

This image doesn't make any sense. It's a sunset, but the geography in the background is tinted with blue instead of orange like the rocks and the sea in the farther layer... but the foreground appears to be correctly lit so... ???cjmcray wrote:
Also, the weird grassy spikes don't even line up with the rest of the pattern.

SEGA already sent out emails for blogs to remove the image.
Why do that for a fake image? And where is the authority for it?

Re: All-new 2D Sonic rolling out in 2010
We can only hope Sega is asking the image to be pulled because it is fake and so bad that it's hurting the game's image.
But you know what I'm sick of? It's the scale of the EggMobile, they haven't had it right in 2D since Sonic 2 (and CD). In Sonic 1, the Eggmobile was a tight fit, but you could tell Robotnik pretty much took up the whole thing. In Sonic 2, they made it bigger, it had more room to be slightly more realistic (ie, engines and things), and ok, fine, that's cool. In Sonic 3, it shrank way way down, so small that Robotnik couldn't possibly really fit in it, and ever since we have these tiny little EggMobiles that are roughly the same size Sonic is with Robotnik's full-size face sticking out the top. If this is real, I'd give Dimps credit for at least beefing the ship up a bit again, but they've kept the design realistic and left no room for its tubby passenger, so they just shrank him! His body looks roughly the size of Sonic's head! Doesn't anyone realize how important this is?
I recognize that this is entirely fickle but it's just one of the many little things that just add up to the impression that nobody knows what they're doing over there. You can't ignore the little things!

You're crazy for thinking the ridiculously tiny Eggmobiles in Sonic 3 weren't awesome. I thought it was obviously the point for them to be comically small.

Way back when, I used to think the black sphere at the bottom of the eggmobile was Robotnik's ass hanging out.

Re: All-new 2D Sonic rolling out in 2010
I always liked how Robotnik fitted in it on Sonic 1 and 3. The ship was shaped like a cut sphere, and the doctor would complete it with its roundish shape.

The one from Sonic Adventure 2 was my favorite from the 3D games. I never liked Eggman's redesign from Sonic Adventure though. Just not round enough.

It strikes me as a little strange that the very game they established the name "Eggman" as universal canon also redesigned the character to make him more humanoid and less egg-shaped. Oh, that Sonic Team.

I could only assume they were attempting to save memory or something. After seeing those big sprites in Sonic 1, it just felt like a step backward to have sprites get smaller.Crowbar wrote:You're crazy for thinking the ridiculously tiny Eggmobiles in Sonic 3 weren't awesome. Re: All-new 2D Sonic rolling out in 2010
Another thing I just remembered is that, whereas in Sonic 1 the eggmobile is always in its base state, in Sonic 3 he attacks you with add-ons to it. When you beat him they all fall off, leaving only the very compact cockpit unit. It always seemed completely logical to me, and it's just plain funny to see these hulking, death-dealing mechanical constructs fall apart leaving only this tiny little craft.
