These days, my consoles are like my women: lukewarm, time consuming, usually don't work, and after all the money I spend on them, I usually find them in the closet.

Well? Am I brillant or criminally perverted?

The proper etiquette is to fart in the woman's face, or mouth, or both. Idiot.

What version of the Megadrive/Genesis do/did you own?
Model 1
Model 2
Model 3
Nomad
Mult-Mega
Others (Homemade, South American/Asian specific, knockoffs)
Also list if you had a 32x or CD and what version as well.

South American model 1 , Model 3, I have an American 32 X and an American SEga CD, the Sega Cd is mounted to the South American model 1 and that way it stays.

Started off with a US Model 2, which did the job until I discovered controller port 2 wouldn't take certain inputs from controllers, and the audio/video quality gradually shot to hell. Was replaced by the Majesco Model 3 which has worked good since, excluding the inability to take advantage of Sega's stereo composite cables for whatever weird reason.
I dedicate this 1,000th post to good 16-bit times. o yea.

Yeah, Jasmine's pretty hawt for a cartoon princess. Belle ain't that bad either.Isuka wrote:I'm partial towards Jasmine, but also have a soft spot for Ariel.Wombatwarlord777 wrote:"Who is the sexiest Disney Princess?"
A North American Model 1. It's no longer in pristine condition (it can't run without a lot of static), but it still functions.Protodude wrote:What version of the Megadrive/Genesis do/did you own?
You know, since it's known that videogame consoles become obsolete after a few years, pouring money into the CD and 32X add-ons were incredibly stupid decisions, at least from a business standpoint.

Re: The Official Poll Suggestion Thread
Well see, the idea was that you'd buy those add-ons (particularly the 32x) and then your hardware wouldn't be obsolete at all!

And when that add-on becomes obsolete, you simply add an add-on to the add-on. This cycle continues, and eventually your Sega Genesis32XSaturnDreamcastTwoThreeFour becomes so heavy that it starts to sink into the floor.
And now, I'm really curious to see what that frankenconsole would look like.

My first console was a European Mega Drive II. A few years ago I bought a second one with a region and 50hz/60hz switch (as I couldn't bear having my good old friend modded) along with an European Mega-CD II which then got treated to a multibios chip (and which came with a free PAL Mega Drive I). Lastly I then imported an American Genesis 32X.

Re: The Official Poll Suggestion Thread
My older brother got a model 1 Mega Drive for Christmas when I was... 3, I think. It came with Sonic 1 and Mega Games 1 (Hang-on, World Championship Soccer and Columns all in one cart). This was essentially my first exposure to video games. Throughout the following year, we fought over it all the time, so for Christmas I was given... a Game Gear. Which then proceeded to eat battery after battery like the disgusting pig it is, prompting its replacement with a model 2 Mega Drive for me and me alone. It came with Sonic 2, and my brother later gave me Sonic 1 to keep.
And I played it until around 1998-1999 when the internet appeared and I learned I'd been playing every game at 5/6 the normal speed. Then I forever turned to emulators, both official and unofficial, leaving it packed away in a corner.

I got a SNES and Genesis at the same time, and my parents were always buying awesome SNES games and like no Genesis games, so I always liked the SNES better back then.
However, one day I discovered ZSNES because of this Tenchi Muyo page, and from there I discovered Genecyst, and then KEGA.
After playing all the great Genesis/32X/Sega CD games, I have to admit, I like SEGA better now.

I got an NA Model 1 for Christmas in '91 which came with Sonic 1.
I never got a Sega CD, but me and my brother bought a 32X when they went down to $20. We actually had a few fun games for it too, like that one Motor Cross game and Star Wars.

Re: The Official Poll Suggestion Thread
Glad to see my idea was met favorably.
I got a Model 2 with Sonic 2 for Xmas of '94, and it wasn't until I saw my cousin's Model 1 that I was even aware of different versions. Never owned a CD or 32X, at the time the only games I knew about for them were Sonic CD and Knuckles' Chaotix, and I even thought they were entirely separate systems instead of add-ons. A part of me still wants them but I realize how much easier it would be to just emulate the damn things.
Also, not even a few years after I got my Genesis the power on button wouldn't stay down, so I had to take off the plastic covering it and now I have to use the end of a pen-cap to position it correctly so it stays down.

Re: The Official Poll Suggestion Thread
The problem with this thread is that if a good idea is posted everything is already discussed in here making a separate poll kind of obsolete. Just saying.
