First re-released as a USB controller for computers, the Saturn controller has been redesigned for release on Sony's PlayStation2 console.

TOKYO--Sega announced today that it will release the classic Sega Saturn controller, which has been reconfigured as a peripheral for the PlayStation 2, in Japan. The units will hit retailers on March 24 and will retail for the price of 2,280 yen ($22).

The Sega Saturn gamepad will be released in black only, to match the color of the standard PlayStation 2 console. The L1 and R1 buttons have been allocated to the Saturn's Z and C button positions (which are the two buttons at the very right of the pad). The L2 and R2 have been assigned to the two buttons available on the sides of the pad.

The Saturn PS2 controller also comes with a select button, which wasn't featured on the original.

Sweet! Looks even better than the Street Fighter anniversary pads.

Damn, that's cool. Sucks the Playstation logo is on the controller, though. Oh, well. Still, it looks really nice.

A controller called Saturn

I need a good controller for playing Ikaruga, and a Saturn controller would be perfect!

Looking at that controller and the PS controls sub-marks next to the buttons makes me laugh at the PlayStation's button set up. I still find it ludicrous and completely fail at any button-pressing minigames.

Yeah, honestly. Why use shapes for your buttons? The only one that makes sense is triangle.

I think the controller looks ludicrous.

And why the hell does a triangle make more sense than any other shape?

Shapes DON'T really make sense because they don't go in an order.

Letters make more sense because they do.

The triangle is at the top of the diamond, which makes sense in a directional sense. (It's pointing up)

By Diamond, I'm referring to the face buttons orientation.
Triangle is on top, pointing "up", which makes some sense. Which is more than any of the other button placements. Get it?

Well. despite how the dual shock looks, or what it uses to designate buttons, it still works extremely well and is considered on of the best controllers out there.

I really don't give a shit about most controllers, they all fit in my hands fine.

...except the Duke. That thing deserved to go to hell.

I've always been able to get adjusted to controllers. Except for the PlayStation Dual Shock.

...You know, I hate you because you substitute the number 4 for the letter A. There are less than 500 people here. Nobody has your god damn name.

I have a lot of feelings that I need to get out.

Most of them need to stay the hell in.

You know what they say, Baba.

If you try to fight against your feelings, you're merely giving them more power. Instead, simply allow them to flow in, experience what they offer, and then let those feelings flow on past.

The Daily Motivator never lies!

Also, sexy controller. It'll be weird using C and Z for shoulder buttons, though.
