STH technical details
IT Media's coverage of the Tokyo Game Show revealed a selection of technical details about Sonic the hedgehog.
The game is currently 80% complete. Both versions of the game are identical in terms of graphics, but the PS3 edition has longer loading times. Sega, however, hope to rectify this before release.
The PS3 version will be released in Japan on the 21st of December, which is nearly a month after the western versions. Sega Japan has yet to provide a date for the 360 version, but according to IT Media, it will also be released on the same day.
STH pre-order gifts
As with all Sonic games, the Sonic the Hedgehog will be accompanied with a selection of pre-order gifts, which will be exclusively released through the Japanese website Sega Direct.
The quality of pre-order gifts has been slowly decreasing over the years and this latest collection does nothing to reverse this trend. The gifts have no connection to Sonic and instead use artwork from a generic Sega Direct branding campaign. The 360 gift consists of a mug and a mystery candle, while the 360 version is a pencil case.

Sega Direct will also be releasing the game with a limited edition QUO phone card that is emblazoned with the game box art. This edition will be 500 yen more than the standard version.

Incidentally, the page announcing the gifts contained a new screen of the Town Stage:
