From DX on GA-Forums:
From Sega Europe -

"Later this year three intrepid SEGA employees will be packing their bags and waving farewell to SEGA HQ for a few weeks. The next time we'll hear from them is likely to be a chilly phone call from the top of Kilimanjaro.

The SEGA team scaling one of the world's highest peaks and raising money through auctions, collections and sponsorships for the games industry charity ESC. All proceeds are going to some great and wide ranging causes including funding schools in near Kilimanjaro, working with disabled youngsters in the UK and giving street children in Tanzania chance for a better life.

There's some limited edition goodness available for auction on eBay. Check out the descriptions below and if anything takes your fancy pop along to the auction to place a bid. Even if it doesn't why not place a bid to help raise as much as we can for charity.

Happy Bidding

Sweetness. It'd be nice to get my hands on at least one of those beauties...

...my current plan is to wait till near the end of the auction as I'd have been paid by then and decide if I can afford something. if so I'll bid (The pictures and the joystick are top) if not I'll take defeat gracefully and wait for Sonic Gems to come out while playing Fahrenheit and Burnout Revenge...

I’ll say this isn’t worth it. The event will be so widely publicized by SEGA that the prices will well exceed their value.

I myself pick up two Sonic games signed by Yuji Naka on eBay (Sonic Adventure 2 Battle & Sonic Advance) from a Jenny Kong for only £20. Jenny got them signed by Yuji at a festival in Cannes. I checked her out, turns out she was a PR for Nintendo (now works for Sony), and Yuji was at Cannes to promote Sonic on the Gamecube and GBA.

The point is there’s no way those signed items are worth £50.

"Rare" VF4 stick? Hahaha, what the hell. It's not rare at all.

That backpack is looking tasty at £10, though.

Why the hell is the Shadow picture worth more than the Sonic one at the moment? I think I'm going to bid if the prices don't rise too much in the next few days. At least I might try and snipe the cheapest one.

It's quite true. In fact, it's the 2nd picture that pops up in Google's image search. I thought that the grammatical errors were rather clever in light of the current situation.

The person who won the signed Shadow picture also got to collect it in person, and thus was given a tour of the Sega of Europe offices.

During the tour she was given loads of extras, such as a giant SEGA Superstars banner, and all of the other stuff that was for auction aswell (seems SEGA had quite a few to spare). They also gave her a prototype game or something, but she's not allowed to say what it is.

Fuck it. This is what we get for not caring about Shadow.
