Renderware is the graphics engine that powered it. Renderware also powers GTA and the Burnout games, I beleive.

A game doesn’t need good AI to be hard; it could just have a lot of dumb enemies that keep and keep atacking, or enemies that just fire lots of things at you, etc…

Doom had crappy AI but was hard because the number of enemies was like, endless...

OCB, I was wondering... Since this will be coming out on PC, Do you know if it will still have the same online benefits? Like.. the rumored downloadables and online play?

Like always, PS3 will be delayed in Europe! So no Hedgehog on me and other PAL-countries before march 2007.

Unless I'm mistaken, the PS3 is still slotted for release on November 17, 2006.

You know, I predict that it's going to be at least a year before the PS3 has enough games I half-want before I can talk myself into buying one, and for some reason the European delay still bothers me. I guess I'd steeled myself for-- or was perhaps anticipating-- the Christmas hype. I also object to once again being left in the lurch while internet forums the world over are recounting entertaining stories of warring parents and broken consoles.

This it probably old hat, but there's a video up at Gamevideos.com that shows a bit more of the cinema of Eggman's attack on the water city, and the subsequent foiling of said attack by Sonic. There is much mischeif and princess carrying along with a few gameplay shots, one of which shows Shadow on a motorcycle (I don't recall seeing this in any previous videos). Sonic's actions in the cinemas, though, have raised my interest level from 'mildly curious' to 'piqued'.

Yes, that trailer seemed relatively well-scripted, not to mention pretty. It was ruined only by the hedgehog's size compared to the princess. It's like being rescued from an exploding building by a Disney World mascot in full costume.

Can't say the gameplay shots look nearly as attractive as the cinematics, though.

I swear the music from that trailer is from some movie trailer. Maybe it's just generic trailer music.

Anyhow, the game just looks a total mess. Not graphically, obviously, but it just looks they're trying to mix several different styles together that work fine separately but don't actually work together. The moment when Shadow appears on his motorcycle is also a major low.

Ultimately, the whole thing just looks completely wrong. I think aiming for this super-realistic style they seem to be going for was a major mistake.

Yeah, that seems brand-new. Is this Emerald Coast?

Don't get me started on the story about that stage. Instead, drool for the fact that the Egg Carrier is back.

I have to say, i'm not sure. The PC version will not come into test for a good while, and will probably not be released until next year. Sorry for providing some false hope, but i'm suffering from this too (in a sense).

That doesn't sound particularly good.

Some new(I think) screenshots.

A lot of it's just from the trailer but there are a few other things like more Shadow and Lava demon stuff.

Looks like the guys at LEGO Bionicle have released their latest monster character, complete with light-up appendages!

Is it just me, or did Sonic's voice sound different this time? I mean, it was deeper than Griffith's voice was, or at least what I recalled it being. In fact, it was deeper than Drummond's, too, who I'm pretty sure they haven't called back.

Maybe the rumors of there being a new VA were true after all?

Sounded like the same Sonic Riders recycled dialogue we got in the Sonic Wildfire trailer, to me.

Is it me or did Sonic grew? HES HUGE!

heres an example, watch the video maybe you can see more size details there.

Image

So it was true!? Sonic is like 4 or 5 feet tall now!!!???

if true this could ruin the whole thing

Image

However, when compared with one of this robots, he seems to be the same 3 feet tall Hedgehog we all know and love. And I measured these robots with the Princess and the cloaked guys and it seems these robots are as tall as human are.

Image

Here, I did a comparison...

Red Lines: the size of the cloaked guy compared with the robot.

Blue Line: Sonic's size compared with the robot.

Conclusion, either my calculations are wrong or Sonic has a huge head.

One Classy Bloke, do you have info on this matter?

That little chime when he kicked the mech off edge fills me with hope. An actual well paced and non-forced comical moment! Even if it isn't the most creative one ever, it's nice to see that there's a chance- a chance mind you- that this game's story will have some good character-based humor here and there. Personality-wise, Sonic is getting dangerously close to Mickey Mouse territory(becoming naught but the face of his parent company) when he's really more like The Flash. Sonic needs his mischivious side presented, and more moments like that could do it.

Of course that may have been the only moment of it in the whole game. Who knows!

Anyway this trailer has me more interested than any shown so far.

Yeah, you can see the Sonic X influence in here.

But why are they using the 4KIDS voices for theses movies!? where are the Japanese cast and where in the world is RYAN!?

Woah, that was wicked. Eggman just seems so much more badass from what I've seen, and the Emerald coast like level looks fun. I can imagine chasing the egg carrier in a mach speed zone. And yeah, Sonic is way too tall D:

If someone can get an accurate size comparison between a robot and a human then we will know Sonic's height!

OCB, You have said many good things about the story, Is it as good as SA2? meaning does it have actually suspense and more or less good character development? moments like the realization that every one was going to probably die at the hands of a madman, or like when Shadow finally came around?

Yes we we all wonder where Ryan is, but where is DAVID!?
