My one hope was that shadow was not going to be in this game and that then the relationship between knuckles and sonic could be played out more. Knuckles has basically been reduced to nothing these past few years, leaving his Island for no reason at all. He's been replaced by shadow as the rival but doesn't have the staying power to be merely sonic's other best friend. Now he's not even playable. I don't even like how he's drawn these days. poop.
I know what you mean, by Knuckles being one of my favorite chars, and look now, theyre saying Blaze is here as well. I can see it now, 4 Super hedgehogs and a burning cat fighting against some giant lizard. I really hated the story in Rush, whats worst is the 4KIDS voice actors return.
The story is begining to suck and DBZ fans who think Sonic is all based on it are starting to get anxious.
-Princess Elise: Princess Elisa is connected to the Flames of Disaster. Her dark secrete is that she was used to stop them 10 years ago.
-Dr Ivo Robotnik aka Eggman: Eggman is the main villain of the game, and yet his butt gets whipped twice by an evil super deity, just like previous Sonic outings (Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Heroes, Shadow the Hedgehog). It’s also been suggested that in this outing Eggman has a twin.(no shit, Eggman Nega anyone?)
-Forth Hedgehog (anonymous): the forth anonymous Hedgehog is crystalline in appearance. Our source describes it as a fusion between crystal/stone/emerald. This character may also be of blood relation to Shadow, and serves as mentor to Silver in the future.
Sonic News speculation: Once again DBZ parallels with the plot can be seen. It was Gohan who served as mentor to Trunks in the show. If these parallels remain consistent then it seems more likely that the forth hedgehog is a blood relative of Sonic, maybe even his son, while Silver is the relation of Shadow.
Possessed Eggman? Blood relatives? Now it sounds like something fanfiction twits would dream up. We're also seeing this on Sonic News, folks. Remember the "Knuckles' own game" debacle? They're too easily fooled for me take any of this as fact yet.
Sonic's story is completely fucked up.
If there's a way for playing the game without being exposed to the story, I'll take it into consideration.
Also, Senbei, if you watch Dragon Ball right from the beginning (all that Bulma fan-service part and on) it makes complete sense, albeit being a little strange and sometimes boring/ predictable.
It's still the greatest manga of all time, and will remain as that if Naruto doesn't develop in a more interesting way.
Naruto couldn't possible hope to be the greatest manga of all time, no matter how it developed. Part 2 has been fairly weak for the most part and has shown no real signs of getting better anytime soon. There are also many, far better manga running right now than Naruto.
It's a little awkward to claim that Dragonball is the greatest manga of all time. To be doing so is to be completely missing the point of the manga itself. It's more popular than it is great, and more fun than it is refined. Besides, I doubt that the "greatest manga of all time" could be reached so easily. That and with multitudes of genres and styles, it becomes a matter of preference as well.
The problem with a title like "greatest manga of all time" is that everyone is going to have a different opinion on what they think is the best. Even polls wouldn't help, as some people's opinions change year to year. Everyone will always have personal favorites, however; one of mine is Azumanga Daioh.
The thing with opinions is that they are all subjective (and usually biased against the person's views). Even if one group of people, or just one person, adores something, there's another group or person who hates it just as much as that person likes it. That's all I'm trying to say, really.

Exactly how much of Tezuka's stuff is available in the U.S.? I've seen a couple volumes of Buddha in a local comic shop and the remake of Metropolis is widely available, but I haven't seen much else.
In addition to the above mentioned titles, Dark Horse released Adolf: A Tale of the 20th Century--though I think it is only availble flipped and Astroboy. Viz released Blackjack. That's all I know.

Thanks to another forum I'm on, with a guy who raves about the series literally every other post (and he has over 170 posts, incidentally), I now shudder everytime someone mentions that series. Sure, it doesn't have girls with big boobs, mecha, shonen action fighting, magical girls, or any other cutesy crap, but for some reason I'm not compelled to buy it (though I have read it).
Oh god I can't wait for this new game. Hearing Blaze and a few old characters returning in this sounds incredibally interesting. Also Sonic News has some exposed news. http://news.sonicstadium.org/story/191/
Looks like most of the stuff Old Classy bloke said is true.
Also a nice gameplay video of Sonic and Silver's levels. http://gametrailers.com/gamepage.php?fs ... 6#trailers
Click on the vids under the gameplay section. Still looks kinda buggy, but I'm sure they'll fix it up in time.
Rings seem to have a different effect in this game too. Instead of Sonic losing all his rings at once, he only loses a certain amount depending on how strong the enemy attack is. Also the more rings you get, the better the characters perform. Example would be Sonic moving faster.
While I don't think we should expect somebody to read through all 17 pages of a topic before replying, most of that has been posted already. :p
I'm skeptical of Sonic Stadium. Most of their information only really seems to build on what OCB said, and some of it sounds really retarded - meaning it could be a fan trying to look like he has "insider" information by making up stuff based on what OCB said.
And if it's actually true? I shake my head. An Evil Twin Eggman sounds like something Ken Penders would write for the Archie Sonic comic.
Plorpus III wrote:Just a thought, but wouldn't the "evil twin Eggman" just be Eggman Nega?
But their entire reasoning seems to hinge on the fact that, on Sega.com, if you put your mouse over the header image of Sonic and the Princess, Eggman's portrait changes from "Jovial" to "Pissed off". They think that, rather than simply a change in facial expression and lighting, they're actually two seperate characters.
And that's just dumb. With Eggman Nega, it was obvious it was two seperate characters, because they looked quite different from one another. That was a little more acceptable. But doing a "EVIL TWINS THAT LOOK EXACTLY ALIKE AND YOU DON'T KNOW WHICH IS WHICH" really reminds me of all the shit Ken Penders has pulled over the years before they finally fired his sorry ass.

Notice how OCB hasn't responded to or refuted any of this yet...

I am aware of this, but I didn't really want to say it, incase it IS somebody else and OCB ends up taking the heat for it instead.

Actually, i looked through my contract, and there's actually nothing about that. Doesn't mean i can't be done for stealing, but i have a small defence.
I've had verbal requests to not reveal details about some games i've seen though, so i've respected them. I got to see Golden Axe 360 before it was announced. It's looks sweet.
