The interface reminds me of the map from Sonic Battle. Connotations with Sonic Battle always translate to good things in my mind.

Take it for what it's worth (very little probably), Sonic Stadium claims that Swatbots are in the game. I have been wondering though if Bioware would dare add SatAM or Archie elements to the game.

They probably figured if they could shamelessly gank the art style off of one Sonic animated series, they might as well try it with another.

I'm still holding out hope that the game won't COMPLETELY suck (in terms of fluid gameplay and bugs, or lack thereof), but there's always Kirby: SSU.

The cool thing is that this can be flip-reversed, and you may end up chasing an enemy that’s realised they’ve bitten off more than they can chew. It’s something we’ve not seen before in an RPG, let alone a Sonic game, and is very interesting.
This happened in Earthbound.

So this is going to be like some ridiculous form of cross-over fanfiction isn't it? I wonder if Chris, Sally, Sam Speed, Sera, Snively, Johnny Lightfoot, and some more chuckleheads from every Sonic universe other than the games will be appearing in some fashion now. :X

I for one am not going to even consider that until I see it.

The whole technophile echidna thing does raise a few question marks though.

OK, so apparently they're swatbots in name only, they don't actually look like the ones from the show. Still to use the word at all is kind of unusual.

I actually wouldn't mind this if all the non Sega-sonic characters were background characters and NPCs, like guys running the shops or standing in the middle of town square.

Honestly, I rather see the South Island Friends running around as NPCs before any of the Archie/Sonic X/other crew.

Hey, I'd stuff them all in. I'd find it fucking hilarious to see Pocky selling items, Chris Thorndyke selling equipment, and Princess Sally running the in.

Not to mention it'd be fanservice, in some way, shape, or form, to pretty much every Sonic fan ever. Ever.

Truthfully, though, the inclusion of "Swatbots" into the game makes me wonder if CVG wasn't lying when they said the game took place on Mobius. Because we totally need to drag THAT dead horse up again, Bioware...

But didn't Bioware wanted to attempt tie plot holes up in the Sonic games instead of adding more holes? I mean I thought it was established in the games ages ago that it all took place on Earth.

They might as well dig up all of their forgotten characters like Fang and Ray.

A few innoffensive cameos in a largely story-free game really doesn't compare.

More likely references to the cartoon series pilot. There were AoSTH references as well. And from what I recall it was a fairly competent pinball outing.

At any rate, it's a waste of time to consider this stuff without actual proof.

Funny you should mention that. SSUK on X-CulT went through the site's XML and found character data for "Gizoids", as well as an FLV movie file for Station Square - implying a distinction between it and Central City (I personally hope the area is still in ruins). Also found included character data for Giant Worm, Kron, Rouge, The Zoah, Brotherhood Elite, Brotherhood Flyer, Millipede, Sheild Pawn (sic), E123 Omega, Eggman, and ???. Most of them consist only of the names so far. There's also a Chao section yet to be added, with Common, Rare, and Unique Chao sections.

You could consider the Swatbots in this game the Game Universe version of the SatAM Universe Swatbots. Everything has a multiverse equivalent, y'know.

I think it's sort of a middle ground between the people who want to see tie-ins with the American stuff and the people who would have nothing to do with the game if it did.

PS. The dark brotherhood are sooo Echidnas in suits, so the plot at least will be interesting or something, since I want more of knuckles' back story.

Lets see what it will become of all this.
