E3 Sonic Next-Gen trailer on XBOX Live Marketplace

Recently on the Sega network, they've uploaded the script for Sonic 360. While i haven't had a chance to read it all, i have got some insight towards the main story (although on Sonic's part only so far). Story-wise, it's not really final fantasy in any way. If you wanna compare it to any Square RPG, think Chrono Trigger. It has been quite dark in some places too.

The document also had profiles for all the characters to appear in the game. There was one surprise on the character list, which i think i won't tell you, because it is quite cool, and i don't want to get sued. Something interesting is that Silver's profile suggested his role in the game is similar to Trunks from Dragonball Z (BTW, the art for this guy sucks massively).

Overall, from what i've read so far, i would say Sega are bullshitting about going back to their roots. Instead, they seem to be collecting elements of their best games and attempting to meld them into something decent. While i haven't had a chance to actually play the game itself, i have heard good things about it so they may have done it.

The game is not due to come into test for another two months and since i will be leaving to go to uni in sept, my chances on working on the game is slim. Nevertheless, i will try to be on it, and i'll give you all my opinion once it's in.

I am open for questions, barring "Can you get this document for me?".

That's pretty much what the TeamXbox interview says.

While i haven't had a chance to actually play the game itself, i have heard good things about it so they may have done it.

A surprise character? Well, it's probably not a new character, seeing as it is "cool", so it might be an old character we all love. I'm not holding my breath, but if it's Fang, that would considerably up the quality of the game, outweighing the suckitude of Shadow and Silver. Again, not holding my breath though.

Scarey. We know Silver, like Trunks, is from the future. I just hope Silver is not the son of anyone and his only resemblance to Trunks is that he is from the future.

Thank you for the new information. I was afraid we would have to wait until the Tokyo Game Show for some new stuff. That, or Sonic's anniversary.

You've got the actual script or just the story? If the script, can you tell us if it's decent (or at least, if it has or not anything like "We can beat this guy with the power of FRIENDSHIP TEAMWORK!")?

It's gotta be Fang. I don't think there's any other characters they could bring back that they haven't already that we'd consider cool (unless it's from another series). Did you mean as playable, or as a secondary?

I think I know who the character is, its the one needed to make this game resemble the Sonic OVA. Think about it, we got Sonic, Eggman, a princess...

If its him..Im glad they brought him back into this game as we needed a good story with him.

Lets hope we dont see any more dragons or liquid steel if you know what i mean.

The way Silver resembles Trunks is in the way he comes to the past to prevent something right? Trunks isnt the only character who has done this in the past.

I'm actually surprised the character hasn't been guessed yet. I guess i'll use my awesome roundabout announcement methods.

All the characters that appeared in Sonic Rush will be returning except one.

Also look forward to a fourth hedgehog.

Don't get me wrong I actually like Blaze and she's probably the only recently introduced character I like but her story played out over the course of Sonic Rush. Bringing her back would be pretty pointless and she'd just end up like Shadow. Of course I've probably completely misinterpreted your message and posted that rant for no reason!

I sort of suspect this entire game takes place in Blaze's world. Which would explain a lot. Why everything is medieval and magical, for one.

Wait, so if every character in Rush is reappearing bar one, which seems to be Cream, does that mean Eggman Nega is in it too? If so that's pretty wierd, I really didn't expect to see him again, at least not in a 3d game.

On the other hand Blaze was actually the first character I thought of when you mentioned the secret one though, it does make a lot of sense since it takes place in "Soleanna" and Rush features the "Sol" emeralds.
