It does look good; I just fear Sonic Team will get the 3D formula right for once, but with a Shadow game. It's an option if you want to use guns, yes?Professor Machenstein wrote:You mean with this bad boy?
Hee hee. It does look overly stupid. But watch the video, man. It's looking more and more like the speed stages of Sonic Adventure 2 as oppose to Sonic Heroes with guns. The Chaos Control also has a cool "fwhoosh" sound effect to it.

Apparently. In every level there's someone who follows you to either bug you to do some objective for them or to help you out. I read it's possible to ditch them if you just run fast enough.Segaholic2 wrote:Why the hell are Sonic, Rouge, and Knuckles following Shadow around? Is there some sort of partner system that I haven't heard about?

Is Shadow the Hedgehog really a 3D game? Most of the levels shown so far seem to consist of narrow, 2D-like paths, which ‘fake’ 3D by being suspended over a bottomless pit.gr4yJ4Y wrote:After playing almost nothing but 2-D games all summer, I'm looking forward to almost any kind of 3-D adventure.

IGN have posted an interview with Iizuka here, although most of the questions and responses seem to have been recycled from previous interviews.

Speaks for itself.IGN: Were there movies or films that inspired the look or direction of Shadow?
Iizuka: We use a variety of different mediums to gather inspiration from, but the true ideas…the heart of Shadow…comes from the brilliant minds of our internal art department. I can, however, say that we did reference films like Underworld, Constantine and even Terminator series while creating concept art for Shadow. These movies and more were used to create the image of what we thought Shadow and his world would be.

If it's anything like the film industry, direction is actively crafting the way the game looks and plays (or at least, telling the programmers exactly how to craft it like the director wants) while producers just sort of scrape cash together for the project and try their best to sound important. Accordingly, I wouldn't consider being just the producer "moving up the ranks".firemario1001 wrote:Wait, he's moved up to the ranks of Producer? I thought he was directing this.

Bearing in mind j-man studied the media of film, I have to side with him. Producers are pretty much wallets with legs, the amount of money they put forward to a film may effect how the director goes about things but it's up to the director to as effective as possible no matter the size of the budget. Clerks? Resevoir Dogs?
