Sonic and Mario: Lovers at last?

What I'm wondering is what the scenery and items will look like? What'll happen if Sonic grabs coins? Will they run out the same way rings do when he transforms into Super Sonic? What happens if Mario gets his hands on a Chaos Emerald (or dare I say, all of them?!) And what if Sonic grabs fire flower or flying feather/leaf? (Racoon Sonic?!) And what about the boss fights? Mario vs Eggman?! Sonic Vs Bowser?!

But enough of that!
I still think the idea stinks. Eggman and Mario in Pimp Brothers may just work. Picking up various girls and taking them to different characters from both universes, yeah, a pimped up Eggmobile with hydraulic anti-gravity motors.

What I'd like to see is a cameo from all Sega and Nintendo characters. Like, Samus, Shinobi, PokÃƒÂ©mon, Zillion, Kirby, Opa-Opa, Link, Alex Kidd, Donkey Kong, Altered Beast, Star Fox, Space Harrier... You know the deal.
