He's pretty much been in charge of the series since Sonic Adventure, which was his proposal. He originally worked on Sonic 3 as one of the lead game designers, then he concocted the idea for a Sonic RPG which eventually became Sonic Adventure. He was the director of that, Adventure 2, and Heroes. Somebody needs to put him on a leash.

But Iizuka was also responsible for the glory that was Sonic Adventure.

Yeah, but chances are he was still under tighter surveillance then. Since he was let loose at Sonic Team USA, I believe he's had more creative freedom than perhaps he should've been allowed.

I kind of hope that Sonic Team USA no longer exists since the re-assimilation.

Hopefully Sonic Mega Collection Plus ver. 2.0 will contain the rest of the Sonic GG games, although I guess we'll have to wait until Sonic Mega Collection Plus ver. 2.5 DX Director's Cut - Collector's Edition for Sonic CD. Even then they'd probably only let you play half the game, wherein you have to put in the SMC+v2.5DXDCCE disc 2, available only in France. In 2006.

I second Rlan on the laaaaaaame.

Yeh, but in Sonic Team's cheap eyes it counts.

The bonus will be Segasonic Arcade, rerendered with polygons and with a new non-trackball control scheme, that will revolutionize gaming in the third dimension as we know it.

Freaking horrible old Genesis game, I think the last one released by Sega Technical Institute. It's a really ill-conceived shooter where you play as a pool of slime and you move around a bunch of boring mazes... shooting stuff.

If it helps any, at the time of its release, The Ooze wasn't exactly critically acclaimed. Comix Zone, on the other hand, seemed to receive a fair amount of good press.

It's actually a fun game, though the fact that both it and The Ooze are being included in an American release (where both games are anything BUT rare) is pretty odd.

So, are they including Comix Zone and The Ooze because they were developed by STI, who worked on Sonic 2? That's a pretty tenuous link...plus those games kinda suck. Didn't STI make any decent, even vaguely Sonic-related games that could appear on SMC?

Anyone find it funny that Sega Technical Institute shares an acronym with Sexually Transmitted Infection? I'd personally rather get chlamydia than play The Ooze anytime soon.

I don't think STI did anything other than those Sonic games, Comix Zone, and The Ooze. They were working on Sonic X-Treme in various forms for a while, apparently, but I guess the group was disbanded around the time of the game's cancellation. At around the same time that happened, there was an inteneral Sega America company called Sega Soft formed to make PC games (they made a couple of Saturn games, too), but I don't know how related STI and Sega Soft were.

I think Comix Zone and The Ooze are included because they were stoned off of their heads.

Dude, I still make sense when I'm stoned, and I don't even make sense when I'm sober. I guess they were just really, really desperate. They probably didn't even think of my STI-Developed Tenuous Link (tm).

Shit...that sounds...like...really...medical, man...

I find it hard to believe the lazyness of Sonic Team. I mean, not only are they including 6 games that have already been recently remade, even the line up is awful: the original Game Gear Sonic, and Chaos aren't really TOO bad, however:-

Sonic Drift- Why not put in Sonic Drift 2, or better yet, Sonic R.
Sonic Labyrinth- This game is utter crap.
Dr Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine- The Mega Drive version's alredy bloody here!
Sonic Blast- They could have chucked Tripple Trouble instead of this sorry excuse.

No Sonic CD or Chaotix, why don't I go and buy a 32x and a Mega CD, becase I don't think I'm getting to play these games anytime soon.

Maybe they're masochists and they like our abusive hate mail. It's one of a million theories to the reasoning behind this farce.

No wait, maybe the Sonic Team that we knew (the one that made GOOD games, remember them?) Were abducted by aliens and replaced with cyborgs. These cyborgs think only about efficiency, and so, because they know we'll buy one game many times, they feel the need to throw the same games at us over and over again. And when they make a new game they turn it into a half assed attempt that makes us all want to vomit with rage; these cyborgs know we'll buy the games anyway, so why make them better?

Did you know that the first polygonal videogame ever was released by Atari in 1983? It was called I, Robot, though it had nothing whatsoever to do with Asimov's stories. Apparently, it flopped.

Just thought I'd mention that.

I've seen at least two people wondering what the connection between the game and the movie was.
