Ugly. But it at least has a gimmick, I'm judging from the huge ball. Too long the gimmick has simply been "he shoots you".

I bet you'll feel like a fucking idiot when his gimmick is, "He shoots you... WITH A BANANA PEEL!"

Profile pages have for both versions of the game have been posted on the main SoJ site:
http://sega.jp/x/sonic/home.html
http://sega.jp/ps3/sonic/

The pages seem to confirm that the game will feature nine different character stories. The translation of the page isn't too clear, so the number could be an error, but it does tie in with the number of characters that are listed on the left side of the 'character' page on the main site.

Oddly enough, the profile page also states that Princess Elise is the first heroine of the Sonic series.

Look at what someone made...or is it real? Sonic's hand looks weird.

Part of a Babelfish translation of the 360 page:

"3 human respective personality and three main scenarios which utilize ability, furthermore also the companions 6 people who adapt in the sonic series appear. Having enough the Daigo taste of the sonic series with the multiple character system where the story entire spirit 9 is complicated even repeatedly!"

I don't think 9 is an error. It says there are "three main scenarios" and 'six companions.'

So much for Sonic returning to his roots of simplicity. They killed that one really fast, eh?

Naaaah. The Sonic simplicity is still returning to its roots. It's just called Sonic and the Secret of the Rings now.

Perhaps the series should be renamed into "Da Fuzzy Animalz Gang", drawing the emphasis further away from Sonic and encompassing every multi-colored fuzzy creature that pops into the mind of some insane Sonic Team artist?

We're not English majors (well, most of us aren't), so you won't be chastised for misspelling and occasional grammatical errors. But you should make an honest attempt at writing coherent sentences with proper capitalization and at least basic punctuation. Sentences that lack structure are an eyesore and difficult to read. Such posts will be deleted even if your topic is relevant, because there isn't anyone here who will have the patience to interpret your bastardization of the language. (Leniency will be shown on non-native speakers so long as they appear to know what the hell they're talking about.)

Does it going a bit Matrix Revolutions and Elise gets skewered into some spikes and it takes about 20 minutes for her to die?
