The Blue Devil makes no God damn sense. I mean, even less so then the Cyclone. Here you have a robot that can move at the speed of sound and you make a car for him? Yeah, maybe it's a requirement for the race, but the least you could do is simply remove Metal's brain and install it into the car rather then forcing it to carry his 250-pound ass down the track.

Meh Sonic R was better anyway. The races actually made some sense, the music while incredibly gay was still somehow likeable, and you got to play as Metal fucking Sonic, Metal fucking Knuckles, and the Tails Doll. And Super Sonic. And Egg Robo. I mean holy shit. It's like the only Sonic game with a shit load of characters, where all the characters are actually legitimately cool.

Well the only change I could notice, besides Mighty is gone forever. Was that Espio said he was the leader in one episode of Sonic X. But because of the way he acted, I think that they just let him believe that. Charmy and Vector acted like they used to, but maybe because im used to the STC ones.chriscaffee wrote:Iizuka has stated on occasion that they are new characters inspired by the originals rather then just updated versions of the classics or something to that effect.

Iizuka exact words were, chriscaffee wrote:Iizuka has stated on occasion that they are new characters inspired by the originals rather then just updated versions of the classics or something to that effect.
"In my mind, I didn't bring back the Team Chaotix characters from the past [...] it's not a matter of bringing up old characters... we recreated those characters from the ground up".
However, in an earlier interview with EGM he described Metal Sonic as a "brand-new villain, very similar to Metal Sonic".
In Heroes, Metal Sonic makes references to past defeats, so it's safe to assume that he is not a "brand-new villain".
Hence, it seems that Iizuka considers design updates to constitute as creating a new character.

Charmy used to be a prim and proper flamer. Now he's hyperactive moron.
Vector's pretty much the same, except now he's the leader.
I have a theory about what happened to them. But you'll have to wait for that.
