Waste of money, in my opinion.

Classic Sonic won't talk, but will show his personality through his actions.

Classic Sonic has his own set of distinct physics, which are closer to the classics than anything since - including Sonic 4: Ep1. It's not based on Colors.

I can also confirm for you that pushing down while running as Classic Sonic will take you into a spin. :)

Bravo, that's good to hear. An interesting theory going around as to why the game doesn't play like colors is that its development started much before colors even got the good reception that its mildly famous for.

In a game that covers all 20 years of the franchise, did you really think we'd escape seeing Shadow again?

The spanish video already said that. "Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, etc..."

I would have chosen Amy over Shadow in terms of historical meaningfulness, honestly.

Thought to be honest, after two real games (Unleashed and Colors) with the entire cast except for Sonic, Tails, Amy, and Eggman missing, a very small part of me is actually glad to see even Shadow back. All I hope for at this point is for Metal Sonic to be in here somewhere. I'll be annoyed if he ain't.

As if he could be not in there.

Paint me orange, but I actually think that Classic Sonic should have a voice. Unlike Mario, Sonic has always been a very expressive character. He had ’tude, a personality emanating from just the way he was presented, and he’s one of the few characters I know who could get away with a few cocky one-liners once in a while. Not to mention he even was voiced in-game in Sonic CD!
Then again, I fear that if they gave him a voice or wrote him lines, they’d just mess it up so him remaining silent might be for the better. I will miss my “Shut up, Tails!” though.

Looks like someone has played neither 8-bit Sonic 1 nor Sunset Hill Zone in Sonic Advance 3 :V

Sonic need not speak to be expressive or a cocky jerk, but one-liners might work in the same way Mario is known for his few catchphrases.

And the spindash?
According to a GameInformer article the spindash is slaved to a single button (as in Sonic Adventure).

another gameplay video. Goes on a little bit further than the previous interview footage. Nice to see some platforming for modern sonic there near the end.

I am seriously in love with this game. I can't wait to see what else they have planned, level-wise.

I dunno if it's 'cause I've just watched a teaser for an upcoming Top Cat movie, but the GHZ certainly has a Hanna-Barbera quality to it this time, dunnit?

Looks great, but ... for Unleashed Sonic, that Green Hill could just as well be any place in the world. Nice atmosphere, but that's about it.

Classic's parts are looking good though.

So Modern Sonic has a generous portion of both perspectives, but Classic Sonic is confined to the 2D ghetto? Considering they went to the trouble of making a different 2D mode for both Sonics, that's pretty skewed. If there was ever a time to make the classic gameplay work in 3D, this was it.

I was thinking that, too! But maybe this is a good thing... if nothing else, it encourages them to differentiate the "classic" Sonic gameplay from the "modern" 2D Sonic formula (the higher speed, the boost and homing mechanics, the emphasis on quick reflexes vs. accurate platforming)

The 2D segments that modern Sonic has really do seem kind of shallow compared to what classic Sonic's getting.

Also, maybe it's just the video, but why does the Green Hill theme in modern Sonic's gameplay seem to skip beats or something? I hope that actually doesn't occur if I play this game. It's annoying.

Shadow's from the tenth anniversary game, of course he was going to be in.

It seems like the music speeds up when you boost. It is certianly a bit weird.

Someone has already mentioned it before, but shouldn't this thread be on the News section?
