Dr Robotnik has launched his army of small robotic creatures. Heavy, Doc.

Pretty much what he said. I think. "Pesado" IS "heavy" in spanish too, right?

Re: All-new 2D Sonic rolling out in 2010
There's that word again; "heavy". Why are things so heavy in the future? Is there a problem with the Earth's gravitational pull?
Re: All-new 2D Sonic rolling out in 2010
Isn't "Qué pesado" an expression? Anyway, the preview overall is nothing special. They still hope for a great game.
Oh yeah, my turn at the bat.
It is an expression, you have to put it in context for it to make sense. Alternatively, do resort to j-man's approach. Also, "Sonic The Hedgehog 4 will get to us in 5 downloadable, independent (or stand-alone) episodes". Easy enough.Nintendo Acción wrote:Dr. Robotnik will toss/hurl/throw his army of robotic creatures at us. He's such a burden.

Sonic The Hedgehog 4: indirectly teaching me Spanish grammar! Hey, I'll spend 1000 Wii points on that.
Re: All-new 2D Sonic rolling out in 2010
So, SEGA just announced that Sonic 4's release has been delayed until the fall, in order to give them more time to "fine tune, balance and polish" the title. I wonder what issues they're planning to work on?

Probably all the stuff people have bitched about relentlessly. It's a dream come true! Except now people are bitching about the delay. ffffffffff
And heeeeeeeeere's a trailer!

Re: All-new 2D Sonic rolling out in 2010
And now watch them release in September or whenever with no changes.
Would you count it out at this point? Not me!
(hurr, as if we needed a week's worth of warning to brace ourselves this stunning development. some "exclusive", Sonic Stadium)

Re: All-new 2D Sonic rolling out in 2010
Only good can come of this delay. What are peoples' problems with delays anyway? It's only a couple of months extra waiting. You'll still have, like, 80 years to play it in.

Maybe more, what with advances in medical science, etc.

Re: All-new 2D Sonic rolling out in 2010
Agreed, the delay is a good thing. If they'll use the extra time to actually improve anything is dubious.
Re: All-new 2D Sonic rolling out in 2010
Man, this has to be a first in Sonic history. SEGA, delaying a Sonic game for quality tweaks! Heck, normally they don't even care if the game is finished before they release it.

In the interview, they actually specifically mention the "floaty" physics as one of the things they plan to specifically address. They also mention two iPhone exclusive levels, which makes me wonder if they're planning on relegating the minecart to the handheld.

From Retro's front page (which, yes, they have):
Hopefully the two gimmick acts will be replaced in all but the iPhone version. Would make sense for the minecart.UPDATE: According to Gamespot’s On the Spot, the iPhone release of Sonic 4 will sport two exclusive levels not present in any of the console releases! No specific details on that yet, but we’ll let you know.
Re: All-new 2D Sonic rolling out in 2010
I don't know what forum you think you're looking at but i'm not seeing anybody at this one particularly crushed. It was hard enough giving a damn about the game as it is.Crisis wrote:Only good can come of this delay. What are peoples' problems with delays anyway?
I didn't watch the interview; who was in it? If it's just reps, think twice before getting your hopes up on their word alone.

Re: All-new 2D Sonic rolling out in 2010
Well, Sonic Retro (ie: usual suspects) was bitching about every last thing regarding this delay, saying shit like "SEE THIS DELAY IS PROOF THIS GAME IS SHIT" or "IF SEGA KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING WE WOULDN'T NEED A DELAY IN THE FIRST PLACE" and such. I'd rather look on it in a good light - while I friggin' hate the manipulation of the community the advertising campaign is based on, if Sonic 4 becomes a better game for the delay, I'm all for it.FlashTHD wrote:I don't know what forum you think you're looking at but i'm not seeing anybody at this one particularly crushed. Re: All-new 2D Sonic rolling out in 2010
Admittedly, this is not far off. Appeared to be in the leaks that the thing had been more or less finished for a while.Shadow Hog wrote:"IF SEGA KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING WE WOULDN'T NEED A DELAY IN THE FIRST PLACE"
Re: All-new 2D Sonic rolling out in 2010
We should leak every new Sonic game before its release, who knows what this will do to the quality of the final product.

Best news I could get about this game.Esrever wrote:So, SEGA just announced that Sonic 4's release has been delayed until the fall, in order to give them more time to "fine tune, balance and polish" the title. I wonder what issues they're planning to work on?
Re: All-new 2D Sonic rolling out in 2010
Do not get too excited. They said they are heavily considering the community's input. And we all know how the Sonic fandom and autism have mixed over the years.
Re: All-new 2D Sonic rolling out in 2010
Precisely. This is the first time thet have ever done that. Hearing the community.Kogen wrote:And we all know how the Sonic fandom and autism have mixed over the years.

And here I thought maybe you'd given up on that. What up with you and autism? And we all know how the Sonic fandom and autism have mixed over the years.
