It's amazing what tweaking the damage done by melee attacks and grenade explosions can do to a game. Suddenly it's fun to run around in Midship with nothing in your hands but an overheating plasma rifle. Especially when you get double kill after double kill beating down shotgun whores and sword hoes.
Needless to say the new update rocks, rolls, and uses the sword. Get off your lazy asses and get on Live.
Seriously. The sword is as broken as hell. Especially if you have a Sniper Rifle along with it. Man, full screen dashing is fun to watch, but shitty to get caught in.
I don't like the sword, but I do like the increased melee damage. What I was saying was in the first one, you could do a lot of damage with a single blow. So you could defeat a crappy/laggy shotgunner.

How the hell is Halo 2 "everything wrong with the gaming industry"? Even if you don't like it in particular, you can't deny that it's a polished, well-constructed, wholesome game. I'd say that what's really/ wrong with the gaming industry is shit like Shadow the Hedgehog.
Halo 2 is an example of what's wrong with the gaming industry, in which a decent game can get ridiculously overhyped with mass appeal and sell millions and millions, while gems like Ico and stuff get completely overlooked.
Sounds like you're just fussing because you hold minority opinions and instead of just accepting that fact you decided to invent a "problem" with the industry.
I was actually on last night and nailed some fucker coming at me with the sword right in his goddamn noggin, and won out. If that was because of the increased melee damage, I'm for it.
Wait, you can kill someone in one hit by hitting them in the front of the head now? Or had you shot him a few times first?
Also on a LAN game I can usually shoot down the guy lunging at me with the shotty half the time or more, its over Xbox Live where I can't really do it at all.
