I haven't seen a topic on it yet, and I didn't feel it was quite right to have this mingled with the Pope thread.

I first heard about it Wednesday, but no one could provide a link to a news story. When they did start cropping up, most people assumed it was some kind of joke or another rumor gone wild, but unfortunately, it's not. Mitch Hedberg, 37, died Tuesday or Wednesday.

The guy had some funny material, and an excellent delivery. I never really get down over celebrity deaths, but I actually feel a little sad about Mitch passing.

Yeah, I was still hoping it was an elaborate joke, especially considering it was Howard Stern, of all people, that first broke the story.

Oh man. I never actually knew this guy's name, but I've heard him performing quite a bit and I thought he was just brilliant. What a terrible loss.

"An escalator can never break. It can only become stairs. You would never see a escalator temporarily outta order sign, just escalator temporarily stairs. Sorry for the convenience... we appologize for the fact that you can still get up there."

I always loved that one.

"I got some tartar control toothpaste, I still got tartar but that shit's under control."

"Fish are always eating other fish. If fish could scream, the ocean would be loud and shit. You would not want to submerge your head, nothing but fish going AW FUCK! I thought I looked like that rock!"

"If you find yourself lost in the woods, fuck it, build a house."

My favorites from Mitch All Together. That guy was hilarious, pure and simple. He will be missed.

I once tried to throw away a yo-yo. That shit was impossible.
